Need advice with my first build

So, I want to build something. I was just about to buy a kit from Madvapes but I decided to look around and see what I can find laying around that would be a good test device. Behold my early 90's pocket AM/FM radio! My question is what can I salvage out of here and what do I need to buy to turn this into something vapable? I am definitely think VV, possibly a juice feed. There is a lot of room in here.

Keep in mind this will be my very first build so go easy on me.

For an idea of room , madvapes vv kits uses a box 3 total compartments 2 of which house the 14500 battery's and the 3rd for the chipset .
If you can fit that in your case they have just the barebones kit for 7.99.

True, but I would like to salvage what I can from this first. The less I have to spend the better.

I am basically doing this to prove to myself I can do it. I used to be so handy as a youngster but lost my creativity as I got older.

Well, it being a radio, I doubt there's much inside you can use except the battery compartment and maybe some wire. The am/fm switch could be your master switch, maybe.

One of these might fit inside. I saw this in one of Mamu's posts, so I ordered a couple.
EDIT: Then you could run 3 - 14500s with the electronics in the radio compartment.

I'm just getting started myself, looking around for enclosures as well. Good luck.
