Hi, I'm relatively new to vaping and I would like to know, if vaping has adverse effects on health.
Like, for those of you who have vaped over a year and years, are you able to advise, what kind of side effects have you experienced? And would it be alright if I just vape for around a year or so before I totally stop with nicotine. Is vaping really harmful?

Some people are allergic to PG, other than that i only hear positive effects of vaping. I've been vaping for 3 years now and my health has greatly improved: no more coughing, more breath, better smell, better taste, much less flew etc. I'd try it for a year if i were you and see what the results are.

Don't worry too much about nicotine, it's not as poisonous as some will try to make you think. Don't get your nic level too low either, give yourself time to forget about smoking. I started vaping @24mg, after 3 years i'm down to 3mg. Eventually i might give up the nic, but it's the least of my worries.

In the UK they've been researching the effects of vaping, here are the results: E-cigarettes: an evidence update - Publications - GOV.UK

Thank you for your reply.
It feels good to be off ciggs. The only concern I have is, whether eciggs will bring other potential health hazards just as harmful as ciggs. I'm only on 6mg now. And I was considering whether if I should just go back to ciggs. But, yeah thank you for your advice. I'd try it out for a year or so and hopefully it won't be as harmful as ciggs.

I agree with Leo Bak. I smoked for over 30 years. I had developed a terrible cough, and would get chronic bronchitis once a year which would last 3 - 4 months. Since I quit smoking and began vaping the cough and illness disappeared. I have more energy, my sense of smell and taste have returned. I can actually smell the rain now, which I hadn't smelled in over 20 years. A wonderful revelation!

I started around 18mg, and after 4 years I'm down to 3 mg nicotine. I'm pretty sure I could go nicotine free now, but I still like a little nic in my vape. :) I enjoy vaping more than I did smoking, hard to believe.

Do not even think about smoking again!
Vaping is much (MUCH) less harmful. 95% less harmful according to British doctors.

There are millions of people vaping now across the globe.
If it's not alright to vape for a year or so, then those some of those millions are no better off than when they were smokers other than feeling so much better. (Which alone makes it worth any gamble).
Vaping is safer than smoking. Some scientists believe vaping may prove to be close to harmless and others who are holding back because there are no long-term studies.
If you are a smoker, it is the best thing in the world you can do other than quitting smoking and spending the rest of your life breathing near trees in the forest, in a country where there is no pollution, which counts most 1st-World countries out.
People who switched to vaping and have been doing that instead of smoking for a few years feel infinitely better, have provable better health generally and have very few noticeable side-effects. The improvement to our lives is dramatic. Death by smoking is too horrific to consider....
If you go back to smoking, smoking WILL kill you unless something else kills you first.
The Nicotine is not the problem, it's the delivery.

Please don't even think about going back. :)

To be fair, nicotine is not completely safe.

In a high enough dose, it is poisonous. At lower doses, it is similar chemically to caffeine. It can constrict small blood vessels, not something you want if you have coronary heart disease or arterial insufficiency. It can inhibit new bone growth, so not something you should consume if you have a fracture or must undergo orthopaedic or spinal surgery. Reconstructive plastic surgeons will not do elective surgery if you use nicotine products.

On the other hand, new studies on just nicotine (and not involved with smoking) show promise that there are benefitual effects of using nicotine.

I would advise to give vaping a year and see if it's for you, good plan.
I started at 18 mg. and am now at zero nic. The less foreign chemicals you introduce to the body, the healthier your body is likely to be.

My wife with MS tried to quit using every technique there is, for years after over 25 years of smoking.

That was 8 years ago.

Her health has stabilized quite a bit, and everything that smoking had done slowly went away.

Side effect after 8 years... NONE. At least aside better health.

Lots of lies out there, huge witch hunt... After 10 years or more that vaping started, there's not a single official vaping health issues reported... 10 Years!

Think about that.

Thank you all for the replies! Really glad that I've asked this question here. I've threw away my final pack of ciggs and been on my mod for a few days. Will never think of going back to ciggs again, thank you all for reassuring me that vaping is much safer than ciggs. I'd stop ciggs completely and hopefully see a change in health! Used to smoke near to a pack a day which is horrible. But vaping really do keep me away from ciggs. Other methods honestly don't work for me. So glad i've joined this committee. @djsvapour @BrotherBob @sonicbomb @samwest @Alien Traveler @Baditude @Leo Bak

Hi everyone, it's been near to half a month of vape and honestly i feel great. Air never felt so fresh before haha.
But I've encountered a problem today, I'm using kangertech's RBA and I've just changed my wicked today. The airhole is maxed but then I feel that the drag is much tighter and not getting much airflow as before. Any advice? Thanks a lot!

Yeah - what he said - it sure sounds like a wicking problem.

If you've got the V2 RBA with the two holes in the side, then you'll want to have just enough cotton fluff to .... up against the two holes to prevent leaking.

If you're using the V1 RBA with no holes in it, then you want just a couple of tails of cotton fluff to be going down the two small juice ports in the bottom.
