Need Battery Help!

I've been recently looking at box mods and the like, and I don't have any idea which kind of battery to pick. I was looking at the Yihi sxmini and people I've asked have suggested the Sony VTC5, but its apparently not available anywhere, so would the VTC4 work? I was also suggested the Samsung 25R and the AW 2200mah 18650 as well, but those are 20A limit batteries, will that make a difference? I plan to mostly be using either an Aspire Atlantis/Kanger Subtank and other tank style atomizers like the Aqua V2, SIlverplay, Goblin, Orchid, etc etc. I also plan to use a few drippers too, would those 20A batteries be okay for what I want to use them for? Or would the VTC4 be the way to go?

Any 20 amp or higher battery should be fine... just watch out for counterfeits. If it sound too good to be true, it probably is.

With a 30 amp max continous discharge rate like the Sony VTC4s, you would be able to go lower in your resistance when you venture into RDAs. Stay away from sites like ebay and amazon as they are notorious for selling counterfeit batteries. Also, stay away from the efest purple 35A batteries as they are overstated in their specs. They are actually 20 amp max continous discharge, not 35 amp. Currently running a Segelei 100w box mod with VTC4s paired with my subtank and 0.2ohm RDA build. Works beautifully.

Would the Samsung 25R not be suitable for lower resistances? How low could I go on a dripper with the 25R?

You can go as low as 0.25 ohms with the 25r and still have about a little cushion (20 amps on a fresh mech battery is 0.21 ohms). That said, if you have a high power mod like the SXmini, you may never find yourself wanting a mech.

The 25R is a great battery and works very well with the SXmini. Varitube.com is an outstanding vendor who carries both (I bought mine there). I'd order two batteries (I tend to swap mine out once a day) and use an external charger. My batteries seem to charge faster and hold their charge better when I use the external charger than when I charge through the USB port on the SXmini. I LOVE my mini. If you have any questions about it, you're welcome to PM me. There's also a really long thread on it here.

If you go regulated the samsung 25r are hard to beat. I use them in my sigelei 100w and they work great.

Going unregulated (mech) using batts with higher amp limits are preferred, that way you can have a wider choice in ohms you can put on them. Vtc4 will do, but as far as I know these are no longer made by sony. I do not know the qc of the companies that makes them now.
