The Protege is actually a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures. I don't think it's really any more noticeable than a regular 510. My Prodigy does get some looks in public, but if you look like a normal person, People don't seem to pay much attention. If you look like a crack head, people will probably assume you're smoking crack and act like they're not paying any attention to you. I used to smoke 2 packs of Marlboro Reds a day. If you are looking for that kind of hit, you may want to consider the Prodigy. My V1 got me off the smokes and it satisfies that actual feeling of something going deep into your lungs that you get from the marlboros. If that's what you are looking for, skip the Protege and go for the Prodigy. I have not had any problems in public, but I try to be discreet.

edit: Yes, straight in the atty. Some people say to aim for the little bridge, but I say as long as you get it in the hole, you're good to go.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a Prodigy V2 kit from their website.

When you dropper your juice into the addy, will it hold enough for a day (considering 1 pack a day smoker) or do you have to keep adding juice?

They said 2 to 3 weeks delivery!! hope it doesnt really take that long :|

When and if you decide to go the drip method just try to make sure you dont flood your atomizer. Filling the adapter up with liquid constantly and not cleaning it out causes pooooor performance.

I've bought a couple of PVs off the forums (calssifieds) and the main reason the users were not happy with the performance was the adapters were full of liquid so they were shorting out and not vaping.
It is an electrical connection. And not one single machine out there will perform well under these conditions.

.

Yeah, I was just going to post a question about the thing with dipping the atty.
Since your putting the liquid directly on the atty (which gets pretty hot) instead of using the matting, seems like the atty would get toasted and funky pretty quickly!! how do you clean yours? Alcohol? I have a ultra-sonic cleaner here where I work, that should do the trick!!

No. When you drip, you carry a bottle of juice with you and you drip just two or three drops at a time. Do not fill your atty!!! It's a trade off. I didn't like filling carts, so I just carry a bottle of juice, or a couple bottles if I want different flavors. When I want to vape, I drip 3 drops from the bottle, into the atty and vape until the flavor drops off. If I feel like I want more, I add a few more drops and keep going. Some people like carts and some like to drip, it's just a matter of preference. You made a good choice with the V2, I can't wait for mine.

You'll get a LOT of opinions around here on cleaning atty's. I for one have NEVER had an atty work after soaking / washing it with anything. No matter how long I left it to dry out - never worked again. I now follow the advice from Puresmoker and just blow it out once or twice a day, drain at night when I remember and when it goes it goes. I find this to be hassle free and my attys last longer. (I use a Prodigy V1 and 801 adapter with a V2 on order.)

Yep .. I do nothing to mine ... _if_ I think about it I might blow one out .. especially if I'm switching from a strong flavor to a milder one .... but that's it ... mine last an easy month, or better .........

When you put the drops of juice in your atty, dont you have to put the cart with the matting on it. Otherwise, the juice would just leak out the
mouth end, right?

Most people use either a "dummy cart" a cart with all the stuffing removed, or "tailpipe" not using a mouthpiece at all. You only load it with juice when you're ready to vape it. Here is a link to a dripping video, staring Steve from puresmoker, its an older video but maybe it will help to watch it.

Okay, I get it
But wouldnt you have to drip right before vaping?
I mean, you could not put the 3 drops in there and put a empty
cart on it and say let it lay around for a while before using it, or
the juice would leak out!?

Yes, typically you add your drops right before you vape.

No worries, we were all new at this, at some point, and learned from asking questions. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your V2, I can't wait to get mine. The V1 has served me well.

I stand my V1 on end with the mouth piece up and really don't have a leaking problem (using 801s). Sometimes a little will leak through into the adapter trough but it easily mops out and it's never much.

Okay, last night I tried dipping my 510.
I put 4 drops of juice directly on my atty, then put a empty (matting
removed) cart on it and was only able to get 4 good puffs before the
juice was gone and the 4th puff was very HOT (actually, it was only
half a puff, since I did not get much smoke!).

So, based on that experience, I would really need to put alot more
juice in there if I wanted it to be the same as 1 analog cig.

Anyone have a comment on that? :|

P.S. since the Prod V2 is 5V (is that correct?) I would guess the juice
will get hotter and vaporize faster than it does in my 510!?
Is that a reasonable assumption?

You do NOT wanna use Ultrasonic on something you're going to heat up and breathe into your lungs unless you plan on cleaning ur atty with the ultrasonic, and then cleaning the ultrasonic off ur atty. From what I here, the best way to keep ur atty in tip top shape without going nuts about it, is just to blow it out until it's clear every night or so. Just make it a habit, especially if ur a dripper. There's videos on youtube on blowin it out. This post is super old I'm just hoping you didn't use the Ultrasonic that stuff can kill ebola.
