I'm sure you guys hate the umpteen threads you get like this a day....but I have to know, I'm not only buying for myself, but my husband as well, so I'm getting ready to drop 100+ dollars, you know?

So I thought I'd better be for sure what to get.

I've lurked here as a guest for a few weeks, checking in to get some info (I'm so thankful for this site, we saw a kiosk at the mall and they wanted 150 for a starter kit!!)

On to my issue....

I've smoked black n milds for a few years. A box of 5 lasts me 2 and a half days. So I figured I would get a mini and probably take low juice. (heh, that's gonna be a whole nother issue soon enough, lol)

My husband goes between lights and ultra-lights and shorts and 100's, he's at about a half a pack a day. I thought pen style for him, but I really have no idea.

We were going to order from puresmoker today, but the style my husband wanted was out of stock. I figure if we're gonna drop the cash on it, it should be something he likes....or else he may not stick with it.

What should we be ordering? Should we order an extra atomizer? Extra cartridges? ejuice?

I want all my ducks in a row before we start this thing. Thanks!!!

It would make things easier if both chose the same model. That way you can switch and swap parts together. DSE901 is a good model to start with, Penstyle is also a good choice. Look in the vendor list on this board, if they don't have them instock...you can try here..Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop or here BestEcig-Newest Mini E-cigarette|E-cigarette|wholesale e-liquid . Use their EMS shipping method, it's fast.
For 2 people, I would get 3 starter kits, one kit for back up. And one extra atomizer. That will give you 6 batteries and 4 atomizers total, incase you get a bad one, you will have extra parts to swap out. That would cost you roughly about 100$+shipping if you use the above links.
Now for e-liquid, they taste different from real analog cigarettes, so I can't really recommend which flavor. You gonna have to try and experiment with different flavors and see which one you like best. Don't worry, even if you end up with a flavor you don't like, You can always mix them with other flavors. You'll never know, you might end up with something interesting by mixing them. That's what make it fun about e-liquid, which you can't do with a real cigarette:). For ultra light smokers, I would recommend 18mg nic e-liquid or less. I'm also an ultra light smoker, I can't use 24mg nic strength, too strong for me. Hope that help.

I had a great response from Vapornine myself.
Ordered a black Rio (Penstyle 801) , some juice and extra batteries and atomizers and received them in 3 days with standard shipping.
Everything works great.
They seem to have good feedback here on the forum.
I just placed a fairly large order from bestecig yesterday. I'll just have to see how that one goes.
China's a long way from TN.
Good luck..

Tobay, I second your response. definitly get some spare parts. I ordered from vapornine as well, Ben really sticks by his product, I got my package the other day and was missing 4 atomizers, he sent them right away, i got them in a couple days, then I realized i had a faulty atomizer, he sent a new right away. A great guy with a great business. I would recommend getting some flavorless liquid and some loranns extra strength oil flavors, there only 1.40 each and you can make around 30 different flavors yourself. Just google lorann oils.

either the 801 (rio is related to this model) or the 901 again you both should buy the same model

whatever u do ...do not order from puresmoker.com. i m new, read their reviews..but they havent responded very well like the forum has suggested.

Just a gentle suggestion: You really shouldn't be bad-mouthing a supplier like that, particularly being a new member who has no experience yourself. Puresmoker has been one of the most preferred suppliers around here for a long time, with a track record for excellent customer service, and has only recently moved their whole operation across the country, and at the same time been hammered by sell-out buying frenzies for the last few times they've had stock.

I would also suggest you both go for the same kit to start with.

Extra atomisers are a must , you can get duff ones and if you dont have a spare waiting for a replacement is a real pain.

Agree with yvilla 100%

A lot of suppliers are low on stock at the moment due to a combination of problems.

HK embargo.
Lots of new users.
People panick buying.
US customs.

This is a worldwide problem not just in the US.

Thanks everyone. I saw on another thread someone recommended e smoky treats, and those kits come with an extra atomizer, which I thought was helpful, plus 10 carts instead of 5. It was a little more pricey than puresmoker, but came highly recommended, like I said. I thought if we both got a 901 model, that would probably be fine, if it wasn't ok for him, we could get him a different one.

Thanks for the help...I'll update when we order!

well if you really dislike e-smoking you don't want extra liquid, but the liquid is so cheap you could try a sample pack from different suppliers so you don't "think" you dislike e-cigs just because the carts that came with the starter kit taste bad.

Buying the starter kits was smart but you also don't want to waste that money (throwing it away) because of horrible stock carts. It's smart to spend just a tiny bit more money, not much more, to get an accurate opinion from different liquids.

Okie dokie. Thanks.

I picked esmokeytreats because theirs came with the standard tobacco, plus 5 flavor carts....but as I read on, I keep hearing that the carts that come with the kit are not so good. I'll check around and see what I see, I liked the look of the flavors on puresmoker....

guess I have more work to do! Anyone care to share their favs? (cheap faves :D)

well, as much as i hate to say it...things are not the same as they were a few months ago.
i would get email responses very quickly whether it be by regular email or via their website, and then that stopped (before they moved their warehouse). i thought i was the only one, until my sister, who lives in Hawaii, had issues too.
believe me, both of us would have really have liked to stay with Puresmoker. i have TWO e-cigs from them. but i cant even get an atomizer for mine, because they have been out of stock for a LONG time. and the website doesnt even give an idea of when they will be stocked.

Ann,

I am in the same boat as you almost. I tried e-cigs last year right before Christmas. I got the same 901 from e-smokey treats you ordered, it is a great set, I think you will like it & Phil has great service also. I just didn't order high enough nic level & then ran out of juice, husband didn't really take to it to well so I backed off.

We are both going to do this full time now & give up analogs. I did it for about a month over Christmas & it was great. I normally smoke Salem Ultra light 100s, 2pack/day.

PureSmoker, Menthol is fantastic if your a menthol person. It is the only menthol I tried so far so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I really like it. I am also addicted to chocolate, fruit & candy LOL. I got some chocolate carts for the 901 from esmokey treats treats & they were pretty good, but not used any chocolate juice yet, to compare them to. Peach cobbler from Johnson's creek, I though was really good also. Vanilla carts from e-smokey treats, were fair. The flavor was good, but the flavor was just to mild/light & not satisfying flavorwise. NOW a good one, puresmoker Cash's Cola.......... if your a cola person, well then you just have to try this one, it is awesome!

I am currently ordering several different flavors for my husband & myself to find some he will hopefully like. He will stick with one or 2 only probably he likes, where as I will like to change them around all the time, so I don't get bored with the same thing all the time.

PureSmoker was great before, fast friendly also. I do feel with the reviews he has that things will get back to normal for him shortly as it would be very hard to move a home, business & family across the country with no interruption in your life. I have enough faith in puresmoker I ordered from him 2 days ago, (what little he had left of cola, LOL), I know it will get here.........

Hugs,
Teresa

E-smokeytreats is a good supplier. Yes, the starter kit is more expensive, but the warranty is much better than the standard 14 days offered by most suppliers. Given how finicky parts can be, having a good warranty can be very helpful, especially if you have some spare parts to hold you while you're waiting on a replacement. :)

As for PureSmoker, I, too am finding the lack of stock frustrating, but it's not a problem unique to PureSmoker. They are a reliable, conscientous supplier, though, and despite my frustration, they remain at the top of my list.

And in a way, the lack of inventory from the "big guys" is perhaps not a completely horrible thing. It's giving other vendors a chance to enter the market. Of course, we'll no doubt be kissing a lot of frogs in the process in our attempts to find princes among the new crop of vendors, but, in general, competition isn't a bad thing. :)

Oh, and, yes, you should DEFINITELY order some liquid. Frankly, I have yet to be able to vape any cart from any manufacturer more than 1/2 way down before feeling very cheated by the decrease in vapor/hit. Consequently, I frequently top off my carts. I think to give vaping a fair chance, you really need to be able to top off carts.

I use the Black with blue led DSE901 and love it .. never smoke real cigs now .. can't stand them now

Bought one kit to see if i liked it, then got another 2 full kits & just buy extra parts every two months, and e-liquid once a month or so this keep me up and running ..must have spare parts!

Hope this helps :)

I know Ann got her's already, but I'll post this anyway for others with the same question.

I got the starter kit from thesmokelessshop, and was very pleased. It's slightly more expensive, but comes with three batteries and two atomizers. Everything I read on the forums here led me to believe I better have the backups anyway, unless I wanted to be buying analogs when an atomizer went down. ... I don't.

The kit also had all of the extras everyone here either says or implies they use all the time. USB charger and wall charger, syringe, blank cartridges, extra juice. I'm glad I didn't just look for the cheapest. I got much more value.

Katy is great for customer service, too. One of my atomizers was working, but not well, and she was quick to replace it. And she put up with all of my questions before ordering and my nagging when I was waiting for her stock to get through customs.

If she had something to match TW's cola juice, she'd probably be my only supplier.
