Hello,

New member here. Just a little info about me. A smoker for 17 years, who is trying to quit using e-cigarettes.

I am searching for a pod or (if that's impossible, a vape device that can produce a warm, dense vapor, preferably with tight draw similar to a cigarette. Here's the list of what I've tried so far, and some comments/frustrations about it.

1 - Smok R-kiss - first device that I've purchased. I guess, DL is not for me. I tried it with Zenith MTL tank but it produces too little vapor with no throat hit. Also, I prefer a smaller device. It's sleeping in my drawer now. XD

2 - Aspire PockeX - cool vape, loose vapor, had to throw it.

3 - Juul - still using it, as it is the most convenient, but I'd like to try something with warmer vapor and more throat hit.

4 - Motives 10 - just no. Straight right into the bin.

5 - Innokin EQs - throat hit is good, it's also warm, but not satisfied with the vapor production as it's quite loose.

6 - Caliburn - due to the high number of positive reviews, I tried it. Flavor is indeed good in this one, but it's loose, even when I cover the holes.

7- Vinci Air pod - my latest purchase, had it for 2 days now. Vapor production is good and device feels premium, but vapor is loose and I can't get a decent throat hit compared to EQs using the same juice. Buyers regret is what I feel right now, as it will sleep with my R kiss soon as I find a better one.

I would very much appreciate suggestions, in my quest to find a pod/vape with:

-tight draw (even a juul like draw is ok)
-really warm (something that's good for cold weather)
-dense (I enjoy watching sexy thick vapor, not into cloud chasing though)
-above average vapor production (can be stealthy, but still very satisfying)
-if possible compatible with free base juice, as I'm aiming to lower my nicotine levels, atm, I'm using 20mg and 10mg nic salt. (very little throat hit, I prefer to have a hit similar to cigarette)

Need your help so I could finally quit smoking please.... Thanks for reading my post.
Stay safe everyone. :)

Welcome to ECF, warmtightvaporhunter. I can't help you much with recommendations, as everyone's opinion is a subjective thing. I can tell you though that free base nic and salt nic are equally compatible with any pod or RTA or RDA.

Hello and welcome to ECF, I just received the Osmall Pod device from Vaporesso to review for them and I have never had a Pod device that has this tight of a draw to it. Having only used it from late afternoon yesterday I can't give a opinion yet but the draw is the tightest of all the Pods I've tried and the flavor is above average in my opinion. The only down side is it houses a 350 mAH battery but there only about $10.00 so you might want to give it a shot.

I can't help you with throat hit (never cared myself) but I would like to compliment you on asking good questions and knowing (exactly) what you want... save us the "twenty questions" game. Hardest thing might be getting the warm vape and your other requirements at the same time. I also like loose MTL and restricted DL so no help with tight draw. You will want something with adjustable airflow (also, you might change your mind sometimes) many devices have different coil options too.
Hey, don't throw stuff away... gift it someone who is desperate and wants to quit/cut down on smoking. I started off with a PockeX... liked it but witsh it had adjustable airflow (gave it to a friend trying to cut down)
So you have a mod with removable tank? Might try another MTL tank.

    - I washed my Zenith tank last night and used a 10mg nic salt on the 0.8 coil, it ticked 3 of boxes which are warmth, density, and tight draw. The only thing I'm looking for now is a e-juice that's compatible for MTL with low nicotine, and nice tobacco flavor. Thank you for the advice :)

I would suggest "freebase" nic juices. Tobacco flavors are so subjective. Black Note is very popular (but very expensive)
So are the ones @Walter Ladd suggests.
    This one is very popular:
    HaloCigs eLiquid - Tribeca 60ml
Coils need airflow to stay cool... when using tight draw, wait a bit between vapes to let the coil cool off.
I use this juice (with some other DIY juices I make) The 65VG/35PG is a good choice for MTL (maybe 6 or 9 mg will work for you):
    Wrangler
Add this to wrangler if you like caramel/vanilla too:
    RY4Life

    Welcome to ECF

I can only recommend my go to pod that I trully love:

    Innokin Podin

    Airflow adjustment.
    Power adjustment
    Draw or button activated
    Great battery life

I also got the adapters for Jull and Blu pods just in case. I prefer the Mint Jull pods when out for discreet vaping.

    Stay safe.
Yes, same here I also use the mint Juul pods. I also refilled them the pods just so I can try different flavors. I saw reviews about Podin, I'm just wondering if it's strong enough to give a warm vape. Thanks

I had to go through the trial & error process myself. From your description I would recommend the Aspire Nautilus (Zelos kit is great and relatively cheap) as you can adjust the airflow and the nautilus coil generates a fairly "warm" vape.
If you don't mind building coils I would suggest the Kayfun atomizer as you can adjust air draw and it is a very high quality warm vape.
juice: I only use Real Tobacco Extracts as artificial flavors do not do it for me as I smoked great high quality English cigs, pipe and Havana cigars for years. I haven't had the urge to smoke in years. They are the best IMHO.
Feel free to PM me if you like.
I watched a review about this and decided to go for the Zlide tank (yes, I bought another tank) just because of the ease of refilling because I'm a noob..

As for the Kayfun atomizer, I'm already getting curious about building but kinda scared because I don't know how to do it safely. Speaking of safety, I'm using my current Zenith tank with Smok R-kiss and wondering if what I'm doing is safe... What do you think about it?

Another option if you're interested in RTA's @warmtightvaporhunter, is the Atmizoo Tripod.

Genuines are expensive, but Ulton do a very good clone/copy.

Here's a link for the Ulton copy, with extended capacity kit.
ULTON Tripod Style 316SS 22mm RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer 2ml/3.4ml Combo (1:1) - Silver

    Link for genuine.
    You are being redirected...

Don't know if the genuine Tripod MTL driptip would fit the clone though, but would be nice to know though. Here's a link for that.

But they're one of the easier RTA's to build, they have a lot of configuration options to tweak your vape (chamber reducer, chimney reducer, airflow reducing inserts and the airflow control ring on the base), good vapour production, decent throat hit and the flavour they produced is impressive indeed.
