I have been researching e-cigarettes for some time and I am just lost. There are so many brands but every review I read I find something that turns me off. I really want to find something affordable and that taste like a regular cigarette. I am not switching to the e-cigarette to save money because I only spend about 35 dollars a month on cigarettes. I don't want the cost I spend on cigarettes to go up substantially though. Can someone please give me their opinions on which e-cigarette is the best and most affordable? I smoke a pack a day of generic regular cigarettes. What is all the components needed for the entire month? I hope someone can help me as I am wanting to stop taking in all these nasty chemicals and smell pretty again :) thank you for your time.

My personal suggestion is to get an eGo Twist, or even just a regular eGo for a starter. They are great and have good battery life.

A Stardust atomizer sits very well on the eGo and does a fair job. They hold a couple mL of liquid, so you won't have to drip.

As far as liquids, you will not find one that tastes like a cigarette. Period. A cigarette's flavor comes from burning tobacco, paper, and a couple thousand different chemicals, while nothing is burned in an e-cigarette. My personal favorite tobacco flavored e-liquid is Phillip More or Less, by Kick Bass Vapors. Over time, most people find that tobacco flavors lose their appeal, and move to bakery/desert/fruit flavors.

well i will be the first to tell you that you will never find one that taste like a real cigarette. i was a 3 pack a day smoker and quit on my first kit then started to build mods as of right now i have 4 mods. only thing i buy is juice, cartos and attys. just try different things till you find what you like and go with it. i know this isn't what you want to hear but it is the truth

I started off with Red (THEECIG.COM Red Tobacco) and Lucky Strikes (Lucky Strike e liquid) from The E-Cig Company (The Electronic Cigarette Company. USA. Fast Shipping. eCig Kits, Supplies & Accessories.).

They both had a strong tobacco flavor, and the shipping was fast. Also, he answers emails very quickly, even at like 12 am.

Honestly, the Lucky Strikes fluid tasted just like Lucky Strikes.

I, too, wanted something that tasted like tobacco when I first switched from real cigs to my vape. I went through the Red and the Lucky Strikes, but a lot of my co-workers were rocking sweet, fruity, dessert flavors. I tried their juices and I was like, "WHOAAAA! They taste so awesome!!"

My current favorite is Southern Breeze from VaporCastStore.com. It's like a peach, strawberry flavor. But I received a sample of butterscotch with my Lucky Strikes and I decided I love the more buttery, slightly sweet taste of it. So I ordered some butterscotch (not from VaporCast, because their butterscotch is all VG and I like a PG/VG mix), as well as Waffle. Butter and maple syrup. Mmm. I have not received them yet but I would be glad to offer a review if anyone is interested.

Welcome to ECF Sarah. Since no one has addressed it yet, I will tackle cost of ecigs... :)

You will spend more to start out with e cigs. There is just no way around that. But if you buy a quality PV (not necessarily expensive, just quality) to start, you can be saving money by next month. And don't lose sight of the biggest savings- your health!!! In years to come, COPD or lung cancer are going to be much more expensive than the e cig is now.

An ego type is a good place to start. That's where I started, and TBH I was completely satisified with the vape and only upgraded because the mod I was drooling over was so pretty. I think the best deal around is the K go from hoosier- KGO kit1100mAh by SLB- someone please correct me if there is a better price out there. Next you will need to pick up some cartos, which are pretty reasonable. I prefer clearos, but most prefer cartos so I would recommend starting with them since price is a factor. You can spend a pretty good bit trying to find the perfect clearo for you. Add in a few types of juice- small bottles to start to find what you like- and you are ready to go.

Now, about the juice. You can save even more money if you make your own juice. Head over to the DIY section of the forums and read, read, read. You will be able to post there and ask questions once you have reached 5 posts and wait about an hou for the servers to update.

Hope this helps some. Jump back in if you have any more questions! :)

Your initial output will be higher than you normally spend because you have to get 'set up'....after that, you'll start saving, IF you don't keep upgrading. If you HAVE to have a cig look alike, I'd suggest the Volt.

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt - Basic Starter Kit - Starter Kits

I'd suggest you get one of the starter kits that has two batteries. This way you can still vape while one is charging.

If you don't have to have a cig look alike, than either the Twist or KGO is the route to go.

Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO

While these two are alittle larger than a regular cig, you'll find they aren't as big in real life as they look in photos. They are about 4 inches long, and rather slender. They are bigger batteries than the Volt, which means they will last longer.

To get through the first month, you'll need a starter kit and some more cartomizers, or whatever juice deilivery system you decide on, and some juice. I would say most people vape about 3-4 mls a day. But that's after they find some juices they like.

Where in the heck are you buying cigarettes for $1.17 a pack???

Lol I actually make my own. I buy the cheapest biggest bag of rolling tobacco and 3 boxes of 200 empty filtered tubes and use this machine. Its a pain in the .... and they taste like it too lol. I just couldn't keep spending 160 on cigarettes every month. The money is a problem but my lungs are more important. I have another question. The biggest reason for my switching is I wake up every morning with horrible chest pain and trouble breathing. I am pretty sure once I make the switch that will go away. I know its vapor your taking in but does is still have an affect on your lungs? Thank you to everyone that answered I am looking into all of it. I think I'm going to get a fruity tasting one because you guys have me craving all of it lol.

You can actually get the nic from the vapor without inhaling. It is absorbed differently in the vapor versus the smoke of a cig. There are many I have seen posting on this forum that do not inhale into their lungs at all. If you are concerned about inhaling it, then don't. Just hold it in your mouth for a fews seconds and then exhale.

I bought mine from Elite Vapor works that Kay linked. The reason I went with them over some of the others is they have free shipping AND they give you a free 30ml bottle of the juice of your choice.

I have loved the KGO's much more than the twist I have. And Jayson is cool enough to call you if you make a noob mistake on your order like I did. I can't recommend them enough.

If I went with the KGO how many cartomizers would I need to get through a month? Also which juice would you recommend?

Yeah..that is pretty good! But I used to get my cigarettes (technically labeled "cigar" in FL...but it was just a name, still looked and smoked just like a cig) for $1.50 a pack. Guess that's why it doesn't look like I've saved all that much over the past 11 months! lol! But I wasn't rolling my own. They were all nicely rollled and packaged neatly for me!

Each carto will last you about a week. The kit comes with 5 so you should have enough. If you want to be extra safe order an extra box, they are cheap!

Seriously? When I used a V4L kit I was extremely lucky if a carto latest 2 days... That's why I ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction from cartomizers. I've revisited cartos on occasion since then, but it still holds true.

Also rolled my own with Reservation tobacco= cheap. Ego fires at 3.3 volts while the Kgo comes off charger at 4.2 and fires most of the time at 3.7. Realize with Boge and Smok Tech Cartomizers there are presently quality control issues- dead within 1-2 days. I would go with rebuildable Clearomizers. When head (wick+element) burns out easy and cheap to replace. My heads are lasting about 4 weeks/ 160 ml juice. New heads cost about $3.00 each and it takes about 10 secs to replace.
Good Luck.
Understand also most vendors are having Labor Day sales so some GREAT deals.

I seriously use a carto for a week. I actually use 5 cartos a week, and use them in tanks (with 5 different flavors)...so not sure whether that will make a difference or not. I do think you need to get a pretty good supply to start with, until you find the flavors you like the best. Each person uses cartos for various lengths of time....and each persons preference in flavors varies widely. I make my own juice, so I can't really recommend any juices for you...sorry. Just go with what sounds good to you...and maybe a variety like some fruits, some deserts, some drinks...etc....it'll take alittle time for you to find what juices you like the best...so be patient!
