I have a volcano battery and i bought 5 510 atty's. I am using Totally Wicked liquid and I am having this problem.

3 attys have gone out after 2 days of use. Or at least i think they are.

I got a new one on now and it is starting not to taste right. Not really sure if this is what happened to the others as i seem to puff on mine all the time without paying much attention.

The wicks on the other attys have seem to disappeared. I have noticed a slight head ache for the past 2 days. Now i got a fresh reused 510 cartridge fairly well filled and the taste seems kinda watery. That is not the vaper goodness. I have not modded these at all so I still have the poly fill that came with them. I will top off the cartridge and this seems to get the vaper goodness i am looking for but then It goes to this watery taste. I think i am now REALLY smoking the atty wick and it doesnt seem to be doing what it is supposed to. When filling the poly fill is almost to the top of the cartridge and when i pull it out it is about 1/4 of an inch down. I havent noticed a burnt smell but the taste is definately not cherry. What do you all think is going wrong or what am i doing wrong to fix this. The original volcano attys are still working fine so i am not sure what i need to do. Thank you all in advance.

Take the cartridge off all together and draw several times directly on the atty case. If you get much vapor you might have just flooded your atty. I find that when I have flooded it, if I remove the cart and take several draws I can take care of the problem. If it is more severe you might need to take the atty off and blow through the battery end. That should dislodge most excess liquid. (Hold a tissue over the bridge end so you can see what comes out!)

The filling in my carts is always indented when I remove them from my atty. The bridge pushes up into the filling a bit.

Maybe others can help you with your problem.

Good luck! :)

The problem might be flooded attys, but it might just be you're not using enough juice in the cart (or not topping off often enough).

A stock 510 cart doesn't work very well (just look in the Cartridge Mods forum for all the things people have tried to make them better). The juice doesn't really wick toward the atty, so just a few puffs will burn the nearby juice (the 510 attys burn hot), and the other juice doesn't flow fast enough to catch up.

For a quick fix that doesn't need anything except a pair of scissors, try removing the filler and cutting off the top 1/4 inch (the part nearest the atty), and using only that as a "plug" that sits on the little ridges inside the cart. You want to remove the "plug" and then fill nearly to the top of the empty cart before inserting the "plug" and adding a couple drops to make it wet all the way through.

One thing about a "plug mod" though -- if you weren't in danger of flooding the atty before, you will be now. The 510 cart is kind of like a ketchup bottle -- either you don't get enough out of it, or you get way too much. It takes some practice to get the right balance.
