Your favorite cartridge filler is:

  • Teabag or coffee filters

  • polyfiber pillow stuffing

  • stainless steel wool

  • the fish tank stuff (don't know the name, but you might)

  • Other (please be specific)

Ive tried the pyramid tea bag fillers, and they work alright.
Maybe Im doing them wrong though.
do you use a whole bag for a cartridge, and roll it loose. IT seems rolling it tight and packing it tight doesnt work as well.
The best thing is really the empty carts. I generally can get a week out of each cart.
But, nothing beats a fresh new empty just gets a better taste it seems.
Has anyone tried vaping without a filler, right off of the atomizer yet.
if so let me know
Thanks.

Half-Loose-Folded Double! Works for me with the PTB! ;)

Agree! Once I folded in half the rolled Lipton Pyramid teabag - perfection!
I started the roll tight , midway looser and then folded ..snipped off any excess + 2mm so it sits slightly lower than cart rim!

I call it the "DrSarcasmo Method" he put me on to doing it our way and after trying 4-5 other PTB experiments this method still rocks! ;)

WHICH version of fluval did U buy? What does it say on the box? How many pieces were in the box and of what dimension? I tried something from my local PETCO store from fluval that did not work out so well. It was not really white in color.....it was more less "OFF WHITE". It has pretty large pores and seems like a synthetic "plastic-like" material that is not soft like Poly-Fil or cotton. I have found that ALL types of Poly-Fil work very well IF PROPERLY STUFFED/PACKED into the cart. It won't work well if/when excessively compressed but it can't be too loose either. There is a bit of an art to stuffing carts correctly and that changes when you change the type or style of cart stuffing material.
Yeah, the ones you want are called "water polishing pads". They come in a box of 3 or 6.

And they look like this, about 6" x 3"

You can't really tell from the picture, but this stuff is kinda layered & you can pull it apart into 3 separate, equal sheets. Then just cut strips to fit your cart & trim.
I've tried the tea bags & coffee filters. To me it's a pain & I didn't care for the performance. This is my favorite, fairly easy, cheap & works the best of the things I've tried. The 3 pad box was under $4 & I'm guessing you can get close to 80 or 90,maybe more cart fillers per box. They seem to wick the best & last the longest. I think they work better than what the carts come with from the factory.I'm on like 10 days without changing stuffing & they are wicking & tasting great.

Have to agree. Poly-Fil is cheap, easily available and matches the original material. When I got tired of the "drip, drip, puff, puff, drip, drip" routine I used a small pushpin to pierce a tiny hole in the side of a 510 cart (not in the air channel) and woohooo! Makes even my weak attys perform like manly men. My search for better fill ended right there. Still working on the right placement for a pin hole on an 801 cart for my JS. Anybody?

SO your saying u poked the hole through the actual plastic of the cart.
ANd do u think the poly fill, provides a better vape than the original filler in empty carts?
If so, where can u get it.

Yes - you poke a pin hole (tiny, tiny) through the side of the cart. There's a thread on that with pics - found it with the google search on the site. So far have only been successful with the 510 carts, speaking for myself, others may have tried this on other carts. Fluval works fine, not much different either way, better or worse, than original. Used Amazon to order. No pet stores nearby. As you draw, a small bit of air is drawn through the filler towards the atty. Small light draws work very well.

Hi everyone,
Here is an update on Poly-Fill flammability. I have emailed the company and here is the E-mail exchange we had.
Good morning Jason,

We do not add any chemicals to our fiberfill. It is flame ......ant due to the inherent nature of polyester. If you hold a flame to it, it will burn however once the source of the flame is removed it cannot hold a flame on its own.

Jason, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

All the best,

Cindy

Subject: Poly-fill 100% premium polyester fiberfill

I purchased a bag of your Faifield poly-fill 100% premium polyester fiberfill. I noticed that it has a Notice that states This article meets the flammability requirements of California Bureau of Furnishings Technical Bulletin 117. Care should be exercised near open flame or with burning cigarettes. I was wondering if that means you have added a chemical flame ......ent or some other chemical? Please let me know as I am looking for fill without added chemicals. E-mail me a response at ghostrider317@hotmail.com or jasonwwalters@yahoo.com
Thank You,
