Might be the Pg/Vg ratio of the e-liquids that you have tried. Pg (propylene glycol) contributes to the "throat hit", and is the main flavor carrier. Vg (vegetable glycerin) mainly contributes to the vapor production. Different manufacturers produce different Pg/Vg ratio's, and many offer custom blends of your choosing when you order online. If you can find the ones who offer a higher Vg ratio, or even all-vg, they would be worth a try.
Dripeez, Virgin Vapers, and VapeRite are three online vendors that I've used which offer customized e-liquids, and the last two listed also offer "sample packs" to try small quantities to see if you will like the flavor.
I know I'm not a fan of the higher Pg ratios, as they vape too harsh. I use a 25/75 or 100% Vg blend if I can.
Typical recommendations for nic levels are:
1/2 pack per day or less = 6 mg nicotine
1 ppd = 12 mg
1 1/2 ppd = 18 mg
2 ppd = 24 mg
You might need a juice attachment that uses a higher resistance (ohm) coil.
Lower Ohm Coils Will:
- Heat The Coil Faster
- Produce More Vapor
- Drain The Battery Faster
- Use E-Juice Faster
- Produce A Warmer Tasting Vape
Higher Ohm Coils Will:
- Heat The Coil Slower, Which Will Produce “Less” Vapor
- Provide A “Cooler” Tasting Vape
- Use Less E-Juice
- Prolong Battery Life
I hope this helps. Don't give up. Finding the right flavor/e-liquid is just as important as finding the right gear to use. If there is a vape shop with a juice flavor testing station/bar within reasonable driving distance to you, it would help you find something that you can vape.
