Hello folks.
I've only been vaping for a short while - around a few weeks with mixed feeliings. I started out with a kit - can't even remember the brand or which one but it was a rip off like most get in the beginning before researching anything - then I graduated to a SD which is working great, however I'm not getting the throat hit I'd like.
I've been a heavy smoker ( around 1-1/2 packs a day ) for the the past 40 years. My usual analog cig was either Marlboro Reds or Basic Reds, so getting a major throat hit is my biggest goal.
The kit had the usual 0-24mg prefilled carts which did absolutely nothing for me and almost discouraged me to point of baling out completely on e-cigs - then I ordered some 36mg e-liq from TW. This was quite a bit better than the carts, however still not quite enough.
Here's the problem I'm having - if I sit the SD or whatever down for a few minutes - then hit it once I get a pretty darn good throat hit - then if I don't wait a bit I'll get almost no hit - plenty of vapor - just not the kick that I need.
This is why I'm thinking that if I make my own juice - I'm hoping I can bump up the nic level to where I need to be for a while anyway and maybe gradually cut back once I'm completely off the analogs, which is my ultimate goal.
I've seen some e-liquid suppliers that have up to 100mg nicotine levels !!!
Don't get me wrong - I have no plans of vaping anywhere near that level, but higher than 36 I'm sure.
Do the DYI liquids come with instructions on mixing amounts ? What are some of the best e-liq places for ordering DYI supplies in larger than 30 ml - and what do you normally mix it with ? One other question - I've never been a menthol smoker, but I've read here that the menthol flavoring provides a better throat hit - and last but not least - tell me about using Everclear as a mixer - is that an alcohol of some sort and from what I read here - it really helps with the throat hit.
Hate to come across as a complete newbie - BUT that I am so any help here would be awesome !!!
Thanks folks for any help - best regards - Tom
