Okay. So, I am new to all this and I purchased the Safe Cig.

I know I know. Many of you are shaking your heads because this is such a beginner's move.

Anyway, I really liked the menthol flavor, but found out I was allergic to PG.

So, I bought the blu cig, which is just VG. And, I don't know why, but their menthol version makes me sick. A lot of people like it, but I think it taste awful....

So, being allergic to PG, does anyone know and VG based ecigs that taste good (menthol)??

I know I can make my own, but really it just seems too complicated.....I don't understand what 510 or 910 or 47383 means or anything else about mechanics and e juice. Plus, I kind of envision myself just messing it all up being at I'm very clumsy.

I'm a simple person and just want a safe, USP grade VG based, good menthol tasting ecig......

Does one exist???

Thanks

o2vapor.com has menthol cartridges that are 100% VG if you are wanting a smaller, plug and play e-cig. I'm not a menthol person, but have heard it has a good menthol flavor. They only have a few other flavors, but all of them are VG based if you wanted to try other flavors as well. Good luck to you!

Well, there are e-cigs and there is juice. You don't have to use the juice that comes with a particular e-cig. There are lots of good juice makers out there that will, or do, make 100% VG menthol juice. So, don't look for a VG based e-cig, look for a VG juice and get a decent e-cig where you can fill the cartomizers with the juice you like best.

I would say go to Smokelessimage.com and look at the Volt e-cig. Their cartridges have PG AFAIK, but you can choose empty cartridges. Then, get the juice elsewhere and fill them yourself. It's super simple to do and even a klutz can do it right.

The Volt is head and tails better than the blu and even more better than the safe-cig. Some others here can give you the ins and out of what to select for the best deal if you're interested. Seriously, I hate little e-cigs. But if you really want something simple, there's no better one than the Volt, so I'll have to recommend it.

It's silly and costly to choose an e-cig based on their juice. It's like buying a car because you might like the tires. If you don't like it, you're stuck. When your tastes change, and they will, you're stuck. You can get little bottles of several menthols and find one you really like. Then buy a bigger bottle and save a ton of money. But make sure you have a decent e-cig in the first place.

hi. Welcome to ECf. Lots of info here...sometimes too much.
Check out Johnson Creek Smoke Juice...just google it. They have really great vg juice under their Red Oak line & they have a new ecig called Vea. Check it out. Sounds really good for a newbie to start on.
Cheers & keep comin back.

First of all, it's not the make or model of e-cig that's in question; it's the e-liquid. Whatever device you choose, they're essentially just batteries and atomizers. If you choose to load said devices with substandard juice, it'll taste substandard. Garbage in, garbage out.

Outside of inherently poor battery life and wimpy voltage output, the problem with the SafeCigs and Blus of the world is that they try to lock you into their prefilled cartridges. My suggestion would be to get yourself an eGo type—or a 510 or KR808 if you feel you need a cigarette lookalike—along with blank Boge or Ikenvape cartomizers, which will allow you to pick your own liquids and control your own destiny.

Menthol in the vaping world is roughly divided into two camps: minty or Vick's Vaporub. Some add a vanilla component. None are anything that's a precise facsimile to menthol cigarettes. What you like is something you'll have to experiment with and decide for yourself.

I like PI's comment:
If you are serious about getting a solid start in vaping, eGo is a standard. (Look for "genuine Joye eGo). Get a basic Kit which includes everything you need except the juice.
His suggestions were in categories:
1. Batt (eGo i.e.) an eGo T is a good basic batt.

2. Cartomizers; 808 is a favorite, Boge LR is a standard for the eGo type of batt. (I'd stick with LR vs SR or HV - means low resistance; a better vapor production)

3. Juice . Research a good menthol and you can have it just like you like it. There's just too many vendors, so choose what people are raving about, and get a small sample/s first.

oh; my suggestions are based on forgetting the pre-filled; there's nothing to filling your own.

Okay. So if I am to start again...and find pre filled cartridges I like, where should i order the battery from? Also, the other eigs I tried ( blu and safe) are 2 pieces. I think most are 3 pieces??? In other words, I know nothing about buying separate parts. I'm so lost.

Thanks for all the response so quickly!

All e-cigs can be two piece. That would be the battery and the cartomizer (atomizer & cartridge combined).
Some can also be three piece- atomizer, cartridge & battery. Many prefer cartomizers because they're easy and hold more liquid but a atomizer/cartridge setup is a good way to 'test' juice before you commit to filling a whole cartomizer with juice you may not like.

The numbers refer to the battery connection.

Volt, V4L, Bloog, etc. have an 808 connection
Ego, 510 mini, have a 510 connection.

They do make adaptors so you could use a KR808 on a 510, or a 510 on a KR808 battery.

You get about an hour per 100 mah of continous vaping. Mini's are from around 180 up to maybe 280? Not 100% sure but from about 2-3 hours of continous vaping.

Ego, larger batteries start at around 650 mah and go up to 1300 mah.

so many vendors sites are so loaded with something "for everybody" i'd hesitate ... i'm sure many will suggest sites, but at the risk of overwhelming you I'd say GotVapes is known for it's Genuine Joye products.
Don't get caught up in the hype there; it's enough to send you packing, but a simple eGo T kit in any of the mah configs (650 = smaller ; 1000mah is longer lasting ) will do. Some kits have 2 batts so you don't have to go vapor less for an hour or more.
Some kits come with cartomizers, and they are usually designed with that batt in mind.
I'd stick with a basic LR cartomizer pak (5 ea).
Right there you are seriously ready to roll.....

Right click and copy the site page of the item you are interested in.... on the site... post it in a reply and it will be accessible here for comments.

Thanks so much for the advice. What's the best site to get starting in buying the batts and carts? I was serious when I said I know nothing. :)

Depends on if you really want a small cigarette looking e-cig or a larger e-cig.

If you want a little e-cig, Smokelessimage.com is the Volt website. Just buy a kit w/2 batteries and buy some empty cartridges. These are 808 types. You can get them other places as well, but for a start, just get a pack here.

If you dont mind a larger e-cig, I recommend a Kgo instead. The ego-T is full of problems. It is a 3 piece monstrosity with it's own tank and parts that you have to buy specially for it and this forum is full of people complaining about leaks, burnt taste, etc. You're paying for those extra parts that make it a 3 piece and you'll just end up throwing them away anyhow and using regular cartomizer. Might as well save the money and get a kGo. It is a more powerful e-cig anyway. A good place to get it is:

It includes cartomizers, batteries and a charger and everything you need to get started. You can also get 100% VG at the same site.

Are you happy with your Blu battery but just don't like the e-liquid?

If that's the case, I 'think the Blu is a 510, but I'd double check with others to be sure- buy some empty cartomizers and fill them with a VG juice you like. Someone posted a list of sites that offer all 100% VG. In fact, you can get 100% VG from most vendors that let you pick the ratio.

Before you purchase cartomizers, check with someone else regarding the battery connection. I'm not 100% sure- we do have a Blu subforum when you have 5 posts.

Caridwen is exactly right. Your problem is the juice, not the e-cig. Find the juice you like and cartomizers that fit what you have. If nothing fits what you have, then think about a new e-cig.

And, you don't need a three piece eGo-T or eGo-C or any of those "systems". You need a battery and cartomizers. Whether it's a small one like a volt or a larger one like a kGo, it's just a battery. There's no sense in buying a "system" that you're probably just going to take off and replace with cartomizers anyway, particularly when you can get a 1000mah battery for less than a 650mah "system".

There's especially no sense in buying a 3.4V eGo "system" that has less power than the mini-cigarette Volt or the kGo.

if I'm wrong about the eGo T being a basic bread and butter eGo batt, then i stand corrected.
All i'm saying is my eGo's are used for LR atomizers of my choice and the vape is as good as any other power delivery device at that set voltage; which in this case is around 3.4 regulated voltage. Two pieces; the batt and an atomizer or cartomizer.
For the price, along a good atomizer, with resistanced match correctly you won't find a better vape.
What's the issue?

Genuine Joyetech 1000mah eGo-T 510 3.3v Battery Kit - STAINLESS [gv-joyetechEGOTKIT-STNLS] - $59.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

this is what i'm talking about; it's a T.... a batt and a cone (which i find unnecessary, but it's harmless), charger.

3.3 volts matched with an LR cartomizer (510) is going to give you as good a vape as any.

Higher voltage is not necessary for vaping satisfaction as long as the resistance is matched to the power.

You can buy these sort of "a la carte" as well, and just get one batt and a charger, or a pass thru; which charges from your usb slot; ... as you vape.
