Ok, someone asked me this question, I"m copying and pasting below. I don't even understand the question, let alone have the answer. I actually have absolutely no clue what this person is even talking about. Help me out guys!!

Hebrews 9:27-28 says to me that reincarnation--as the world sees it--is false.

27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

It's my understanding that the other verses were referring to Elijah and John the Baptist as prophets. I don't take that verse to mean reincarnation.

Ok, first off, reincarnation is defined (dictionary.com) as "the belief that the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form."

"Upon death of the body" being the operative words here - Elijah did not die. He was taken bodily to Heaven in a whirlwind. No death - no reincarnation. Even if you believe in reincarnation, it is not an option for Elijah. So the question is illogical.

Some Biblical scholars have proposed that Elijah and Enoch (who also went to Heaven without dying) are going to be the two prophets of the Tribulation. It makes sense of those verses if that is so.

Elijah and Moses come back twice.....once on the mt. of transfiguration, and in the tribulation times. They are the two prophets who are killed and the anti-christ left them there for all to see. After 3 days, they got up, brushed themselves off and ascended back to Heaven. Reincarnation is NOT in the Bible and they are just twisting words to fit into what they want to believe......that's all.

Now Jesus raised 2 people from the dead....the little girl and Lazarus. However, they were never reincarnated. Your seeker is extremely confused and misinformed.

With regards to John the Baptist ... scripture says he came in the "spirit of" Elijah. The same heart... not reincarnation.
With regards to Elijah returning.... Scripture does not say that Elijah will come back in a different body but somehow be Elijah and yet not know that he is Elijah (typical reincarnation). It says it will actually be Elijah. Very different from reincarnation.
