My experience with clearomizers has been that they give less throat hit than atomizers and cartomizers. The ones I've used such as the Vision, Kanger T2 and T3, couldn't wick fast enough when the voltage was turned up to give a stronger hit, so they tended to develop a burnt taste. The Evod may be better in this respect since it's newer.
Factors that affect throat hit in more or less descending order:
- nicotine strength... more nicotine = more throat hit
- vapor temperature... turning up the voltage gives hotter, denser vapor
- flavor strength... strong flavors tend to give stronger throat hit
- the juice's base... PG (propylene glycol) gives more throat hit than VG (vegetable glycerin); 80/20 ratio is good
510 atomizers tend to produce good TH. However, you must drip juice into them (2 drops give 4-6 drags) or use them on a bottom feeder type PV.
Filler-type cartomizers (Boge, Smoktech, Kanger) are good for TH and are what I use most of the time. They're fairly convenient if you use a carto tank, then you only need to refill once or twice per day. The
DCT tanks work well for an Ego. The vapers I see in my town (there are 4 vape shops) almost all use carto tanks.
When I was at the Roar Vapor site a little while ago I saw something which might work for you:
Poison with Menthol
Poison is a cigarette tobacco flavor. Quite a few menthol juices are only menthol, or menthol plus mint, but no tobacco. I was thinking, Poison at 24mg nicotine + 70/30 PG/VG + Blizzard menthol level ought to give a pretty good hit.
They also offer LOL WAY TOO MUCH MENTHOL level, if you really want to chill.
