My neighbor, a mastiff show-dog owner, told me to roll her on the ground and pin her down if it happened again.

I'm a show dog owner of Newfoundlands and I wouldn't ever consider rolling mine for any reason. That's a dangerous thing to try with an angry dog. You might lose your face.

It was a fairly popular thing to do a few years ago...and now isn't. Pretty much all negative training methods are being abandoned by all good trainers. It's been found that dogs respond better to positive reinforcement. Lots of high pitched voices saying "GOOD girl/boy", lots of happy happy happy. LOL Never hit a dog, never roll a dog, just use your eyes, your body language, and positive reinforcement, and you'll have much better training success.

If you're interested in reading about dog behavior from one of the absolutely best trainers in the world...it's Ian Dunbar. Here are some links for handling behavior problems:

Im still trying to fugure out if this thread is a joke. The thought of using a stun gun to discipline a dog, imo, is bordering on animal cruelty. I've only read the first couple of pages so I dont know what other methodes have been suggested. But heres mine:

GET RID OF ONE.

I dont know your situation, I dont know how long you've had the two dogs, I dont know what breed they are, and I dont care. If you have even CONSIDER resorting to stunning them in order to stop them from harming eachother... then its time to give one away. How is this method differ from say... shooting them with a BB gun? Would you consider that? Or how about just darting them with tranquilizers? Or, bashing one (lovingly of course) with a hammer until it stops fighting? I mean, stun gunning it? For real? Yeah.... its time to relinquish one of them. And imo, its in the best interest of the animal to do so. I cannot find one veterinarian that supports that kind of training or discipline and I would venture a guess that if one knew you were electrocuting your dogs to end fights, you'd be advised to get rid of one and anticipate a visit from your local Humane Society.
This is all of course my opinion. But caring for an animal isnt rocket science, and common sense would dictate (to me) that two dogs who cannot otherwise be controlled should not be allowed to remain in the same houshold. One would have to go. Sending electricity through one or both is not a means to an end... its cruel. So is keeping them in the same house. Get rid of one, and be sorry you ever even considered this idea.
