My neighbor, a mastiff show-dog owner, told me to roll her on the ground and pin her down if it happened again.
I'm a show dog owner of Newfoundlands and I wouldn't ever consider rolling mine for any reason. That's a dangerous thing to try with an angry dog. You might lose your face.
It was a fairly popular thing to do a few years ago...and now isn't. Pretty much all negative training methods are being abandoned by all good trainers. It's been found that dogs respond better to positive reinforcement. Lots of high pitched voices saying "GOOD girl/boy", lots of happy happy happy. LOL Never hit a dog, never roll a dog, just use your eyes, your body language, and positive reinforcement, and you'll have much better training success.
