I am new to vaping, about 3 weeks, got me off analogs within 5 days. I really like it But the leaking is driving me nuts. I started with a joyetech tank and then bought a joyetech C. I live in Florida so I need something that will work in the heat. I also like to change my flavors often. I notice I get the most leaking when I am outside and when the tank is getting low. Today I put on a new tank and a new atomizer it started leaking about 4 hours later. I have ordered silicone caps and hope that helps. I am looking for recommendations that will NOT leak at all, is not huge so that i can slip it in my pocket.... thanks for the help

Heat will make tanks leak, it just happens. You can always get yourself a 510 atomizer and drip into it. Here is a great blog about dripping, essentially you vape what you drip and carry bottles around with you. They are really easy to swap flavors, just blow out the old from the threaded end and in with the new.

I do not have experience with the EgoC tank, but my Protank will gurgle and leak a bit once it's less than 50% full. Try to keep it filled up most of the time (which can be tough when you swap flavors often). Keep it upright and I take a qtip and plug the hole when I remove it from the atomizer to refill it. Take off the atomizer, clean underneath it and retighten. Good luck.

Hate to tell you all but in extreme heat an humidity, like we get here, and in FL, even a Protank will succumb and leak, not as fast or as bad as any other tank, but eventually it will leak in that kind of heat.

Only two cures are cartomizers - fill several for the day out or, drip attys and take a bottle of juice with you. Which you need or want is up to you and, the situation. If dripping isn't possible, then, get cartos.

I get very, very minor leaking if anything with the protank, and I'm from the Sarasota/Bradenton area, so we experience a lot of the same temps. Usually, what (if any) liquid I find under the tank upon removal, seems to be more condensation than anything. I go in and out a lot from home and work, so this makes more sense to me anyway. Never have had a problem with the liquid being enough to short a battery or anything. Just my :2c:.

I have been on clearomizers since I started to vape and on the bcc kind since my second week. I really don't want to start dripping, except maybe to try flavors. I know this is contempt prior to investigation and I may be shooting myself in the foot by not giving them a chance. I have been drawn to the glass cartomizer tanks. I keep looking at them. Will this stop the flooding and leaking that I have with the Kangers and the Vision Victory bcc when the liquid gets below a certain point? Will it be a better vape? I would have to replace the cartos. Is that much more expensive than replacing heads?

Most important question: am I highjacking this thread with all these questions and should I just post elsewhere? I do vape in heat and humidity when I am in TX so I have experienced the problems with my equipment and just wondering if should try another delivery system.

Dripping an atomizer will be your best tasting vape......Dont over look this if you really want to taste the best vaoing has to offer. These are a bit expensive sorta.. 5.50 for an LR306 and can go up to 9.50 for an LR510 in a good brand. Learn to treat them right and not burn them and clean them oftyen and they can last a 2 to 4 weeks.

A good carto tank (IBTanked) 25bucks....and a good Cartomizer (Ikenvape, Smoktech, Boge) 2 bucks each will give you the second best taste. They will last you between 1 to 4 weeks. Ikenvape being the best IMHO but are sold out alot, 2nd choice Smoketech. I use a 3.0 Ohm with these.

Of all the other type tanks, I lean towards the Protank's They have worked out all the bugs and are a really trouble free tank. Clean the heads regularly, dont use too high of voltage so they wont burn and they will last a long time. I keep my heads in a "cleaning rotation". At the end of the day or the nest day, I clean with Vodka for 30 mins or so, and blow them out with water from the battery contact side out and then let dry and pick up ome Ive previously cleaned.

All in all, the Carto tank is the best thing going but you need to treat yourself to a good dripping atomizer from time to time.

Well, I got good news for you, Autumn is not far off. I have a leaking issue when my stuff get hot too. I live in las Vegas where in the summer it drops to an overnight low of 95 degrees. If I leave my set-up out in the heat, it leaks, any set-up. The only solution is cool. Cool weather, cool A/C, just cool. When I drive I have an A/C vent blowing on my stuff just to keep it cool, also when my tanks heat up they vape terrible.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but all clearomizers that have bottom air flow leak, so 99% leak. Nature of the beast. If they have the potential to leak, they leak. You've got a liquid, under pressure and heat, in a $5.00 device (or $15) with air flow coming from underneath the liquid. You are going to get leaking....period. However, in VapeWorld, we deal with leaking two ways. First, we learn to do things that help to avoid and minimize leaking, and, second, we learn to correct the leaking, about as fast as it starts. Some good videos on cleaning and maintaining your clearos:

For the New Vaper:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVFSk5fW7bo

Leaking:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_Ot-qthbDM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXZ3W8QBIwk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvhHgrQTaYs

Maintenance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsXkEhNufMs

Very quickly, cleaning, clearing, and correcting leaking and flooding become second nature. I don't even think about it anymore. Problem...fixed. Next. Getting upset that clearos leak is just counter-productive, and the clearo that doesn't leak is not available. To stop the leaks, the juice would have to be in a sealed tank, the airflow from above and the juice below the wicking/heating coil. Generally, this configuration is found on the better RBA/RDA's. My RSST never leaks, all my clearos leak, even cartos leak sometimes. Pressure, heat and gravity working on a liquid without pressure valves....leaking. Gonna happen. Now, if you're an expert like me, you can get the leaking to pour, and frequently. Too little juice in the tank, too much heat, caramelized and carbonized wicks, negative pressure in the air tube, both simultaneous flooding and leaking....mastered them all. When it rains it pours. Clearos leak, dogs bark, cats jump on furniture. And yes, sometimes the juice gets on your shirt (OMG!). I love vaping. It's an effort, I accept the limitations, and I'm a non-smoker. This is the most important thing. I vape, I no longer smoke, I put up with maintenance, leaking, coil replacement, cleaning, new gear, etc. so I don't have to smoke and I can have a life to live and enjoy. Much better than the alternative. Ranting and rambling now....best to you! Good luck!

My first and most frequent mistake that causes leaks and poor vaping: not keeping the head FIRMLY screwed on. They come from the factory a bit loose frequently and sometimes they just become loose while vaping. Hard to figure that one out.

Bill said it all. It is a part of vaping and becomes no big deal over time. Sometimes they leak when half full, sometimes they never leak or gurgle or flood at all. Those are the good days!

Thunderball, thank you! I am going to try a Smok DCT. Soon. I will check the local B&M today or tomorrow when they are open. I want to decrease DH's cognitive dissonance by not having a bunch more vapemail for a little while. Poor guy. He totally supports my vaping but does want to stop the financial bleeding it has caused. I think I am still ahead or maybe just breaking even with the money saved by not smoking but I am afraid to add it all up.
