Hey everyone. Have been looking for a new mod as I currently have the istick 30w and the subtank mini (using the rba). I just leave more. Now especially that I got my rba working great at high wattages. I was looking at the Disrupter but then thinking with the FDA working on screwing us over that I should go more universal and get a single 18650 mod (because I hate bulky devices like the MVP 3). So then I saw the Smoke R-Steam Mini 80w TV with upgradable firmware which sounds good. Looks exactly like the Evic VTC which is apparently a really good mod even though people tend to hate joyetech. What do you guys think? Anyone have one that's been using it for awhile?
I don't want to spend more than $50 on a mod preferably closer to $40. I would like it to be somewhere between 50w-75w, although I hear 75w is a lil much for a single 18650. 60w seems like a perfect number. I can't comfortably vape higher than 50w-60w anyways. And I want side charging cuz I hate that the micro USB port is on the bottom of the istick. Oh and nothing bigger than the size of the Disrupter since that's the biggest I've looked at. I'm not re of I'm a big fan of the kboxes either, but maybe theyre good? If anyone else has any recommendations, please please feel free to let me know and why you like the one you recommend.

Edit: so I'm currently looking between the Joyetech Cuboid for $40, Sigelei 50w for $25 (although I hear the 75w chews through batteries. So makes me wonder if this one will too), the IPV5 for $50 and the smok R-Steam 80w for $40 or $50. Seems like the Cuboid is the best buy right now, but I could be wrong...

If you are flexible a bit on size as you seem to be in your edit, you may be flexible on the on board charge port too.
The IPV D2 or 3 is smallish and I like it for that. The charge port is on the bottom however it is a barrel jack not mini usb so is much more durable imo. if you would be using it a lot. I do not, separate charger is always better as the batts get rested between cycles. Cheers.

Edit. A buddies Pico usb busted the first week. May be a fluke but there I said it.

Have you checked out the istick pico? Very small but packs a punch.
That's what I hear, but buying another istick makes me nervous cuz it seems hit or miss whether it's a good device. I have no complaints on my 30w, but just from what I read online. Especially the 50w. I was thinking of going with a more solid manufacturer. Unless there's a reason you can convince me otherwise lol

I like alot of things about the dv2 and dv3 but the bottom plug is a deal breaker. I absolutely hate it on the bottom. That's really my only complaint on my istick, so far. Besides not having enough power for what I want anymore. I actually don't like the barrel port cuz I have so many cell phone chargers I an plug it in almost anywhere without having to worry about bringing a separate charger. But wouldn't the ipv5 be a better option anyways? And yea, I read that dual 18650s I need a charging station but single is fine to charge in the mod.

Totally get that. I have a couple eleafs and have had no problems with them. Still use my 20w. There are so many good choices. I can only comment on what I myself have. Innokin is solid and like their products.

I was actually really close to getting the Disrupter but concerned that if the FDA puts their foot down I'd be slightly screwed if I ever need a replacement battery and the fact that it's only 2000mAh worries me a tad. Otherwise it looks awesome.

I got one for myself with two batteries put away. I know it's better to get mods with external batteries and just started getting them myself within the last month because of the regs.

Not a fan of sigelei as a company due to the sig213 fiasco, however, its still a great mod but its a tad over your budget.

Mods below $50 that I have and would recommend.

Single battery mod - Eleaf Pico. Probably the smallest single battery box mod that fires up to 75W and has TC: 20-30bucks

Dual battery mod - Options are pretty limited but the cuboid is solid. Albeit very heavy and the 510 pin has issues with longer 510 connection attys - 30-40 bucks

Triple battery mod - RX200s. Tried and true esp after they've fixed the 510 spring. 40-50bucks

Thanks. I was stuck between the ipv5 and the Cuboid at the tail end. I ended up going with the Cuboid. The 510 connection did concern me, but seems to work good with my tank (subtank mini). Hoping it will like my new Griffin tank I ordered. Love the screen and I think dual battery is probably best. I've seen the rx200 on person, my friend has it and the newer model. Great mod, just too thick to fit into my pocket lol. I then ordered my wife the Evic VTC Mini. Seems super popular, no real big issues, and is really accurate for wattage mode. Not so much in TC, but my wife won't be doing TC.

just a heads up the Cuboid with 2 batteries in there is probably as heavy as the RX200 with 3 batteries installed.

Regardless, enjoy your purchase, whichever you choose.
