Sadly it's a risk Ms. Nana, 10 watts of power is alot of strain on a standard usb 2.0 port.

You can take what Morandir835 says to the bank! I have been using my PT through the ports on my computer, plus charging batteries with them at the same time. I started doing this when I started using V4L products. Yesterday my computer suffered a serious melt down. :( I lost the motherboard, power supply and in the process fried both of my hard drives. :( An Expensive lesson learned! :( But, I now get a faster motherboard, two new and faster hard drives and a bigger power supply. :)
I Will Never, Ever Hookup Another PT or battery Charger to my computer!

GPR sir am truly sorry you had to learn the hard way. At least you get an upgrade out of it?

That's the way it goes my friend. :( I didn't think that such a small thing could cause so much Havoc and damage, but I sure do now! :(

Computer Upgrades are always a good thing. :) The motherboard will be Maxed out for RAM, Faster Hard drives, an upgrade to the video card and then I'll bump up the processor speed and YOWZER I'll have another super computer on my hands! :) All the photo editing that I do really does put a strain on things, so I come out a winner all the way around! :)

GPR, you did see that V4L is now offering a USB wall adapter, right?

I am ordering one today!

Kittypie,
Yes I did see that V4L is offering a wall adapter, but I had already gone to Walmart and purchased one for my Immediate needs. I sure didn't want to burn up my Laptop computer. I'll be buying at least one more wall adapter real soon.

Thanks for making sure I knew about the V4L product! :)
