I personally believe that this forum is brilliant at self moderating - If someone appears to have alterior motives, they are soon picked out. If another posts a 'fake' review, time and time again - people will stick up for the supplier if the judgment doesn't seem fair or of course take them to the stocks if necessary!
The only problem that I can see with the current system, is that:
a/ It is open to abuse with false reviews in both extremes by trolls - but generally this is self moderated pretty well.
b/ I'm not sure we want to hear a running commentary on every single detail of every single transaction - sure an end review on a suppliers service or particular product is great and most important to all of us, but all the traffic in between, is on the whole unnecessary I feel. Obviously, if/when a final review is posted, then all the fine details of the transaction can be included in it to allow members to make their own judgments.
I think therefore the point of the review section should be to review the supplier/product when the transaction is completed - not every little detailed step in between.
But if it is a choice between censorship vs. freedom of speech, I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable if people were allowed to post positive reviews, but negative reviews had to be moderated...
Just my tuppence...
