I see this thread is more popular than I thought it would be,lol

Can you make one that vapes? My son would love to get one of those for his birthday! I can buy the stuff and ship it to you.

I can't do all the coding stuff you guys can but I do love my video games, always have since I played the very first Legend of Zelda and Super Mario games back 25 years ago. We used to go to Gamestop so much that when we slowed down going they called to make sure I was alright, lol They had seen me go thru a lot of surgeries, but I would still be in there in my wheelchair picking out games, lol

Since my accident I have worn out a Game cube, a laptop computer, a PS, PS2, 2 regular gameboys, one desktop computer, an Xbox and an Xbox 360. I currently still have a Nintendo DS, Xbox 360 (we actually have 5 of those in the house), my current Desktop. Collectively we have 5 computers (only 4 people live here) PS2 x 2, PS3, 2 other Nintendo DS's, A DS Lite (mine) a whole bookshelf that is nothing but games. All of my stuff is wireless so all I have to do is lay back in my bed and play or do something on my computer. I actually have the nerd's dream set up. I'll take a picture when I find my quilt. I think it's hiding with the printer cables and the stool, lol I have USB cables for everything so I can charge them with my Kensington power pack.

Oh, I know just enough coding to change a CSS code but not enough to write one of my own. That reminds me. I need a code.

I need to be able to click on this picture and it take you to the PIF main page. Pay It Forward - E-Cigarette Forum I Used to know it but have since developed a case of CRS so I need help, pretty please.

Code:
<a href="link here"><img src="image link here"></a>

When I do that, the image shows up in the middle of the code and all the code is visible. I guess I'm not as big of a nerd as I thought I was. I'll turn in my badge now.

I am using photobucket to host the picture if that makes a difference. I'm using the IMG code they give.

Jules. Are you coding in HTML, like for a website, or is this for a forum signature?

If you're using HTML try using that piece of code again but instead of pasting the IMG code they give just take the DIRECT LINK and paste it over the part of my code that says "image link here"

Tell me how that works out. And what are you coding in? Notepad? If so attach the file for me.

It can be done. I made one out of a Wii lightsaber for cheap, but for a battleready with blade would take a different approach. (some kind of a quick change mount for the LED that lights the blade)

PM me with some more guidelines and I'll try and work something up.

You guys are baby nerds, My first computer was a big metal box that when you took the cover off was the keyboard, had only an orange screen and came with two games Pong and something else I cant remember.
The second one was a keyboard from TI called a TRS 800 that you hooked up to a small TV (not a computer screen) and had to program everything in yourself it came with a book and to play a game or get it to play a song I spent hours putting each command in individually. it was kind of cool because with the clue game you could change the names of the people and weapons etc. And most impressive for the times was after programming in Somewhere over the rainbow there was actually graphics. Neither of these had Disc or floppy drive slots, you could only hook them up to a word processor.
I knew Gary Gigax before his wife divorced him and took the holdings to DD and went to his funeral a few years ago.
And I was a Ms Pac Man champion.
Oh God I am old and I am only 50.

I guess I'm a baby nerd, too!

Been playing video games since I was about 6. My mom worked in a bowling alley and I just hung out there all day playing Popeye, Donkey Kong, Centipede, & Ms. Pac-Man. Now I'm just an RPG nerd. I have a PS3, PS2, PSP, a Wii, Gameboy Advance, & my original Playstation. Favorite sereis is Shin Megami Tensei.

I think the most fun I've ever had was beating the original Zelda with my sister. Seemed so rewarding at the time (guess it was cuz we didn't have cheats back then!).

Love golfing. Guess I'm a golf nerd. We just got a driving range at the army base where I work and I go there at lunch sometimes & practice. I try to play almost every weekend with my husband.

Don't really like I guess "chick flicks". I'm more into sci-fi/horror/fantasy type stuff. I also have a weird obsession with putting together Ikea furniture.

Also am kind of a Japanophile. I'm obsessed with pretty much anything having to do with Japan: anime, video games, cuisine, Hello Kitty.

There's a difference between nerds and geeks...

I agree with this!

Btw, you're all a buncha geeks. Although, I have to admit it's amusing to watch folks try to one-up each other in their geekdom.

Since geekdom seems to center around video games, here's my repertoire:
Atari games - loved Pitfall and Asteroids!
Tandy 1000 - yeah, that's one old, old computer but it's where I was introduced to Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, and a host of other Sierra games
Was online starting in 1996 - remember the old AOL MUDs?
Got into The Realm and it all went downhill from there. Soon I was beta-testing all sorts of MMORPGs, including Everquest I and II, DAOC, WOW, LOTR, etc.

Sadly, I think I've finally got out of MMORPGs. Although it's hard to say since I'm still watching Star Wars: Old Republic to see how it's going to turn out. Didn't sign up for the beta though.

I left my life as a nerd behind when I started high school. now 11 years later I only ever turn on my xbox to watch netflix. (Haven't even done that in a long time as my new tv has it built in)

I do however love RC Cars so I guess with all the tech involved in them I can still be counted a nerd/geek.

favorite ever video game. Super mario bros. that game never gets old.

Heh, I think I'm just the opposite. While I had an active social life in high school, my nerdiness kicked into high gear there. Guess it all worked out for me though. Haven't paid for a degree yet, but sadly there are no more left for me to get in my chosen field.

When they call it a terminal degree, they're not kidding! It just about kills you!

I know all the lines and songs to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, lol I've seen it 177 times, lol

In HS, we used to go every weekend to see the midnight showing. Rice packs and water guns on hand.

<----------was never a geek or good at any video games, but loved to watch boB play Zelda, and super mario....like all the time!!!! hehehe

Me too, I'm still no good at video games, but love to watch my friends and kids play it.

My first computer was a Sage -- it's the make/model Apple bought to develop the Lisa (the predecessor to the Mac).

Ahhhh, the green screen. Gotta love it. I never even saw a computer till I joined the military in the 80's.

In HS I was a band/drama/glee Geek. I was the only female drummer and bassoonist.

I have ALWAYS been a TREKKIE!!!!!

I am such a Trekkie, that I have been called a walking Star Trek encyclopaedia by everyone who knows me. Yes, I have uniforms and Geek out in them to any convention I can go to. I belong to Starfleet and am a member if UFS in Second Life.

My Trekkie nerdiness goes so far as to have played stump the panel at a convention. You're supposed to ask a question to the panel comprised of the actors and other Star Trek celebs. If you can stump them you get a prize. Pretty bad when the question I asked was of an episode the panelists where in and they couldn't even remember the name of the episode. LOL!

Yep, Geek alert here.

Ahhh, those were that days.
