I have been asked by our neighbor to come to their house and guide them through becoming a vapor. She is a closet smoker, and now that I don't smoke it was so obvious, yet for the last three years I never really thought about it or realized it. We live in a 55+ mobile home park and I got conned into running a park wide yard sale. So as we were sitting there getting rid of any junk we could and me vaping like a madman. A lot of the other residents asked me about it. But one neighbor showed a lot more interest in my VTR and the aroma that she kept getting slight whiffs of. Before it was over she had asked me to bring some devices, juice, and anything else I would need to help her get started vaping. She confessed to being a closet smoker, and I told her I knew before she told me, but I had never noticed before today. She was panic stricken as she put it well then I guess everybody at church must know too. I told her only if they didn't themselves smoke. So anyway. I'm going to charge up one of my ego's and rebottle a couple of juices that we discussed, and clean up and put a new coil my old kanger T3 clearo take a charger and a few other odds and ends three or four of my devices, computer and I'll bet we end up ordering her a nice set up, juice and a couple of nice pretty things to go with it. She keeps insisting on paying me for doing, and I keep telling her no, but I guess if she insists I'll let her get me a small bottle of juice as payment. I just hope I don't forget anything and can lead her down the right path. Wish me luck.

Thank you, and it's nice to meet more young'uns like the wife and I. Being the spring chicken that I am I love the looks I get from some when I pull out my VTR or one of the other PV's I have. We were at a street faire a couple of weeks ago and overhear these two "kids" (younger than 25) "did you see that, that old guy over there is vaping, I can't believe it, who does he think he is?" So I strolled by and said he's somebody that quit smoking and loves it, is that a problem. The one guy said oh, er um sorry I didn't mean it in a bad way, I was just shocked to see somebody as and then he looks at me kind of embarrassed, and I finished it for him as old as me? and laughed, hey don't sweat it, but if you're going to talk about somebody learn to do it so they can't hear you. And walked away laughing. And I hear behind me that was a cool old guy, turned around smiled and shook my head. Doesn't anybody teach these kids to whisper. lol

I know what ya mean!! I am retired and have plenty of free time on my hands so I like to hang at a few of the local vape shops. I take my build kit with me and we do some builds and check out some of the new mods when they get them in. All of them are in their 20's and I'm way above that. They seem to think it's cool that a geez vapes and hits RBA's and RDA's. None of the olders that come in ever hang, they just get their stuff and skulk out. I try to chat them up, but most just hurumph and move along. I don't get my generation, too danged grumpy for my liking, at least around here.

Just be yourself and honest and you'll be fine. Keep it simple because all the information and terms can be overwhelming at first. Your neighbor is really lucky to have you, an actual vaper, to show her the ropes. A lot of us had to learn just by reading on here instead of having someone showing us in person how it all works.

You're going to do great! And if it works out, you'll have a vaping buddy!

Very cool. I'm 40 and just started vaping. Smoked for 25 years. I could not be happier. I wish I had had someone to show me the ropes. Spent way too much cash in the beginning trying to find what worked. Finaly saw my ex wife's ex husband number 2 and 3 (she is messed up) anyway he has been vaping for a few years and was willing to let me try a few things.

Good on You for being willing to show someone the ropes hope it helps her out.

Good on you man, nice to see that there's still people willing to take the time to inform and educate others. When i'm out and about with my VTR i get a lot of attention, to the point where i rarely take it anymore, there's only so many times that you can explain the same thing in an evening at the pub :)

How do you like the VTR, I just got mine last week and love it. Can't believe the difference in it and my SVD or Vamo.

It's nice cause my wife and I vape together. Our sons talked to me before Christmas about vaping and I was sure that they had something up their sleeves. Come Christmas we got our ego's and a ton of other stuff. They bought us several bottles of juice, but also gave us all the ones that they had tried and didn't like. We ended up with about 25 bottles of juice to try. The oldest is really into the mech's and building, the youngest still uses an ego and just does it for the flavor, he is the only one that still smokes, but I've seen a pack last him a month. so not much. We have gotten into it pretty intensely, I'm DIYing and my wife is the head taste tester, but she can swap out a coil in a heartbeat. I figured I'd be doing all of hers for her. I've even talked her into cleaning the coils and mouth pieces every week. We love it. The best thing that's happened to us for a long time. We've both lost weight even though we quit analogs. It's great.
