@bennie7767, while The Ultimate Fruit Flavor Pairing Chart is good, it it no where near complete. It is very basic.

If you want a more complete, and very detailed, guide to "what works with what" then I would highly suggest picking up a copy of The Flavor Bible. If I could only pick one guide to use with DIY that would be the one.

It's a culinary book, not a guide for learning DIY. However, the information is 100% useful and totally transferable to DIY.

I have the actual book and the kindle version on my iPad and MacBook.

Here’s the video that got me into mixing and pretty much is how I do it now:

i started watching DIY or DIE but i will check that guys content out also
them calculators dont have all the flavours but dam good for a starting gydline

now i going to need to look in to buying a rebildable rda but that can wait a while
i can see my self wasting allot of pre made coils tasting flavours

live and learn but dam wish i asked on here before buying the device i did not that its a bad device just not sutable for what i need .
a sub ohm pod system sounded convinent at the time but i now realize a pod is better for mtl low watt higher nic vaping and a single coil rebildable RDA is what i should have for trying flavours as i can just replace cotten vs a entire new coil when i get something i dont like

I have several RDA's I use for testing flavors and mixes. Once a mix is where I like it in an RDA I know it will be fine in an RTA or a tank with drop-in coils.

I roll my own coils for RDA's and RTA's. It is much cheaper versus buying pre-made coils.

With an RDA all you need to do is change the wick between SFT's, or mixed recipes, and clean the RDA. You don't need to replace the coil. A proper dry burn will suffice.

do you make your own coils or just buy pre done ones for your RDAs
im thinking it be better for me to buy pre done ones then start learning how to twist my own .
i dont know enough about it to even consider making my own lol and to be honest i might never get good at that haha

I do not make my own Clapton's or other exotic types of coils. I roll my own coils from a spool of wire. These days you can purchase all kinds of wire on spools. I have several different types of wire.

Rolling your own coils is pretty easy. You just need some coiling rods and you're set.

IMO, practicing with simple round wire (SS316L, Ni80 or Kanthal) is the best way to learn. After a couple times you will see how easy it truly is.

There are many YouTube videos for learning how to roll your own coils.

i just woke up haha i read you dont buy them but still write that .
i will revisit this topic of RDAs alittle later down the road
expensive is wasting $200 a week on tobacco like i do . if i spend half that on vape stuff every week in happy enough but yeh not fussed about cost . paying less in the long run is the idea though

Got that right!

Yes, the "start up" costs can be a bit, but many of the supplies will last a long time, so prorated out, juice, for example, can be brewed for 10 cents a ml or less. A spool of wire for the RTA or RDA can last literally years.

About the only thing I buy these days is PG and VG, about once a year or so for me. Enough high test nic on ice to last the rest of my life. The occasional new flavor, and only now and then a new shiney :) (Enough of the mods and RTAs I like for my lifetime, as well.) I use rayon for wick, and the box I got, uh, about 8 years back, is still more than half full - and I've piffed probably as much as I used. That box was about $15.

So yep, looking at the long term, dirt cheap, even though nic has spiked in cost.

What brand of flavoring are most of your flavors?

    Which country do you live?

some will you suggested % on the listings and others dont so it got me confussed haha

are flavour concentates supended in pg or vg already . im guessing no but yeh not sure

is it better to add vg/pg 1st then flavours or makes zero difference

i have read a few recipes i will probably fallow a few if i can find all the right flavours for them haha

is it a mistake if you just put random flavours together and see what comeout . that sort of sounds fun to me eg pasionfrout with a cherry plus and maybe a black currant . im guessing thats how people make recipies ?? but fine tune %

do you taste a new mix or wait for and steep a few days 1st . i understand steeping is better but do you still taste before
I always add the flavor and Vodka to the bottle calculated by size of bottle and then just fill. Much easier
