I tend to err on the side of caution, stick with what I know and operate on the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” side of the proceedings by and large.

As I’ve said before, my daughter and her man gave me an e-pipe kit as a present back in October last, which led me happily but accidentally into full time vaping, rather than pipe smoking. When I moved into box mods and tanks I stuck with more or less the same settings as the Kamry had used - 1.8ohm coils, and voltage set at 3.7v and there I expected to stay for ever and a day.

When I found out about Vapocalypse I began looking at building my own coils and acquired a squonk box intending again to run it at similar settings which I did...until picking up a cheap spare tank to use when travelling, I bought an Eleaf GS Air 2.

Having been a pipe smoker for so many years I do prefer a setup which has a fairly easy draw and can produce a bit more vapour than a cigarette can do and I found this thing fantastic for me - even better than my beloved Nautilus Minis.

It does of course run on 0.75 Ohm coils - so it is a SUB OHM TANK - a thing I never ever thought I’d use ( just never thought I’d have the need for one; not because of any intrinsic dislike of either the things themselves, nor the folk who use them.)

I have two squonking atties - an Origen 16 and a Delaniemods “Aventador” - it was wet windy and snowing off and on in Dear Auld Scotia yesterday, so to pass the time I built myself a 1 ohm coil for the Aventador and a 0.75 Ohm coil for the Origen then amused myself running comparisons.

For me with my smoking background the Origen with its sub OHM coil was the clear winner...a thing I never thought I would say.

I was honestly amazed at how easy the coil building itself was; initially getting the ends of the coils into those tiny post holes was however a lot more difficult until someone gave me the great tip - before fitting cut one shorter than the other. Wicking for me was intially too a bit of a nightmare - my first was so tight it wouldn't draw liquid and so only produced minimal vapour, the second was OK but I finally got it right on my third one and have stuck with that system since.

I'd honestly say - give rebuilding a try - you really might find it much easier than you think - just get a good meter to be on the safe side.

Good for you man! After near a year and a half, I'm still in clearo land and don't think I'll get into rebuilds anytime soon, if at all. Who knows though? When I started, I was real satisfied with CE4's. That changed so who knows? Certainly not me..
