Thank you for all the responses. I have a good delivery system now I started with a ecig that I couldn't find refills for and it was like drawing air. I now have an eGo-C Twist with a four wick chamber. I just ordered a 50/50 PG/VG 24mg juice so it should produce more Vapor. I was smoking cigarettes with the ecig for about a week then quit the cigarettes. I've been smoking for fifty years and this vaping is very interesting.

Suggestion: I was a 'regular analog' smoker and didn't get much satisfaction out of a few of the tobacco-style blends that I tried. I found it much easier to swap to something different and it wound up being more satisfying to me than the tobacco blends.

The one in particular was a couple of menthol flavors with a strong icy worked well for me. A few quick vapes on that and I have a nice cool sensation I liked better than smoking left me feeling much less of an urge to smoke. So far 30 hours and counting with no analogs since I ran out of the ones I had in the house.

Don't beat yourself up if you have a few regular cigs here and there. Some folks went right to vaping on the first day they picked up their vape. Some, like me, scaled it down. When I first started vaping my cigalike model my smoking was cut in half. When I got my eGo Twist, I had only a few a day. Now that I'm out of smokes, I'm transitioning to full vaping.

Along with the nic strengths, you may find it more satisfying when you have a few other flavors that are not like cigs, helps break the association with it and lets you enjoy the experience more.

Note: Also, some measure of insomnia as well as dehydration are normal. I suggest increasing your water intake, and decreasing consumption of caffeine well before you get ready to sleep. Nicotine is a stimulant, like caffeine, and when you vape a lot early on trying to break the cig habit you might find yourself more 'wired' if you don't lower your caffeine intake. I know this was true for me.

Welcome! I do understand how difficult it can be. I am into day 7 now and while it has been fairly easy I will say that I have had a couple of days that were just "painful". The first day not so bad, second day craving something I was not getting, but got through it. The third was moderate but I was lacking sleep. The forth day was the worst, I felt like I had the worst flu. I am still not sure why it was so bad, but I had made it that far so just kept pushing. Day 5 and 6 got progressively better, day 6 I started to feel much better. So far day 7 is looking like it will alright. My suggestion is to try and work through it, but if it is not working have a smoke break, then a vape break. What you are doing is detoxing your body from the chemicals in the cigarettes, it is stressful and you may need to slow the process down some. But make sure you are taking care of your self in all of the other ways as well. Drink plenty of water, eat good, and attempt to get plenty of sleep. There is no fast track path to this, take your time and find what works for you. Congratulations on your accomplishment thus far, keep up the good efforts and you will be successful with your choice to switch to vaping.

Maybe the 24mg is why you are still up.

I'm pretty sure the 24mg of Nicotine is keeping me up and the high Caffeine intake doesn't help.

Thanks for mentioning lowering my Caffeine intake and that I can also expect some insomnia.

After nearly 40 years of smoking I never even tired to quit. I just started vaping but continued to smoke whenever I felt like it.

When I realized how effortless it had been to decrease my analog usage by 2/3 in only a few days, I increased my nic level from 12mg to 18mg. I immediately dropped down to only 1 or 2 cigs a day, and stayed there for awhile.

Finally, I bought a bottle of 24mg juice and only used it if I had a craving. It always worked, I haven't lit any cigs since I got the 24mg.

So I don't know if this technique would work for everyone, but I never denied myself a smoke if I really wanted one. After just a few weeks, the analogs became unsatisfying and downright stinky to me. It was a very pain-free process to quit completely.

Don't give up, It took me also about a week, but I just hunkered down and constantly vaped, I started with a Tobacco flavored liquid at 24mg nic which turned out pretty strong for my Throat hit but kept at it with slow light toots, till I eventually got used to it. then gradually I went down to 12mg to 8mg nics and havent gone back to analogs almost 3 months now, make sue not to have any analogs near you to avoid any temptations to hit them, hope this helps

I smoked Camel Filters for 30 years, PAD. I started vaping on 24mg, very satisfying. When a tobacco craving hit, I just took 3 big vapes, one after the other....within a minute the craving would pass. In time, a couple months, they were fewer and farther in between. Now, I'm on 18mg and I'm just fine with it. If I hadn't been on 24mg when I went full time though, may have been a different story.

I feel your pain, I was a pack a day smoker for 15 years when i decided to quit. It was kind of a hard transition at first, i tried all the disposables etc. I got the starter ego 650 set up with cartomizers, then I figured the clearomizers were they way to go in the first week because you didnt have to refill them quite as much (more care free vaping experience) so i could just grab it and get my nic fix. I used 24mg nic to get going, and vaped for about a week and a half, chain vaping, then smoked a cigarette ( i know sounds kinda stupid right). My reasoning for smoking the cigarette was that when i started vaping it made me choke a bit cause the vapor is so different then smoke, so i figured it would be the other way around by then. So i puffed on a cigarette and it was disguting, tasted like super stale tobacco. That did it for me. I've been cig free since last june and loving it. Stick it out, its well worth it i promise.

Another thing you can do (I did) is grab a pack of smokes....and if you want one, go smoke one....but keep on vaping! This way you satisfy a mental craving and habit. Plus, just knowing you can have one if you want it really helps. Telling yourself you can never have one again is poison! (That's why diets fail) You'll find that you smoke less and less tobacco cigs, eventually staying with vaping full time. It's not just the physical nic fix, there's a huge psychological aspect of fiddling with the cigarette you have to get by as well. Once I got used to the weight difference, I had a SafeCig in my hands all the time.

I'm not sure the cravings ever stop completely...but they get more and more bearable. You may also begin to recognize triggers. I learned this during the great apple spice cake incident of 2012. (apparently apple spice cake is a huge trigger) I agree that nic level is one key. I started with 24mg which just worked. I had to drop it later on, but at the beginning I needed the good stuff.
