To the OP - Frankly, different things work for different people. I would definitely recommend starting with a kit of some sort vs piecing together a device, mods, etc. You're right...at this point, it's just best to keep it simple.

It's just my 2 cents, but I'd forgo a cig-a-like. I get the impression from this forum and also from personal experience that the cig-a-likes just don't seem to cut it for most heavy smokers looking to quit. Almost anyone I've known who started with a cig-a-like either quickly upgraded to something else or went back to smoking the stinkies. I don't know if it's the fact that they lack the "oomph" or what...but it seems like there is less success with the cig-a-like models. Personally, I didn't want anything that even remotely resembled an analog cigarette...I wanted to distance myself as much as possible from that, both pyschologically and physically.

I'm still using my 900 Mah eGO twist battery and I use DCT tanks with cartos @ 1.5 ohm resistor. I like because, 1.) batteries last me 6-8 hrs before needing recharged depending on how heavy I'm vaping...so I don't really freak out if I'm out and about without a charger handy. I just start the day with two fully charged batteries and I'm good to go; 2.) While priming the carto can be a PITA, once it's primed all I have to do is fill up my tank and vape away. My little 3.5 ML DCT allows me hours of easy and carefree vaping and cartos last me a week or two depending on the juice and use. My buddy somehow stretches that out to 3-4 weeks and I'm not sure how.

Obviously, I'm biased, but I think a 900 Mah + eGO w/DCT is a great starting point.

So its my understanding then that the Kgo with 1100mah batteries will last realistically 3-4hours? Also are e-liquids and batteries interchangeable between pvs's or does the supplies have to come from V2? Also if it doesnt break any forum rules, where would I get these liquids? Are all ecigs that take liquid reusable? Thanks!

100 mah= 1 hour normal vaping before recharge. My Kgo batts last anywhere from 10- 13 hrs dependent on how much I'm vaping. Finding the right juice is tough. When I first began vaping I bought 30 wide ranging samples. Out of those 30 I liked 10. Immediately ordered another 20 and out of those I liked 10…so out 50 different flavors I enjoyed 20. Months later I tried those 30 samples that I disliked and enjoyed all but one. Whether it was because my tastes had changed or they needed steeping I don’t know. Realize also "same name" juices will vary greatly in taste from vendor to vendor as they all have diff recipes and order ingredients from diff Suppliers.

Also, will any clear/cartomizer that is 510 worth with the Kgo?
Yes. Best ohms is 1.8 clearos or Vivi Nova and for cartos 1.7 or 2.0 ohms

Will the Kgo be able to run a dual coil without getting terribly hot? Im thinking I would like to go with a clearomizer with as much vape as possible therefore I would have to find a high resistance correct?
Always run single coils on a Kgo/ 3.7 PV. DC drain the batt slightly quicker and are not a very good vape. 1.8- 2.0 ohms is best for 3.3- 3.7 volts. For the higher voltage Twists, Spinners, etc 2.4 ohms is good for 4- 4.8 volts.

Wow, haha this is what I mean, its alot of information to take in but Im here for the long haul. Want to kick the bad habit! Thanks for the advise thus far everyone.

Look at the headers for any of the sites I linked to and click the E Liquid tab pick some flavors that look interesting. There are literally hundreds of eliquid vendors with some offering better quality than others .It is probably easier to get liquid with your initial order so when your stuff comes in ,you can start using it.

Interchangeability of equipment is based on threading. 510 threaded stuff is a generally excepted standard and offer the greatest degree of compatibility. Though a number of thread styles exist ,some male ,some female with various thread pitch variations that differentiate them.

Again, figure about 1 hour of use per 100 mAh so an 1100 mAh battery could last 10-11 hours ,a little less , maybe a good bit less ,a little more depending on factors such as vaping style and resistance of juice delivery device. In the beginning you may vape like a freight train as you grow accustom to switching. Nicotine delivered from vapor is not delivered as efficiently as cigarettes due to a number of factors so plan on hitting your pv a bit more to get your fix. Not unusual at all.

You got some good options in this thread from a number of posters. As you see, there is a readily available support group here.
Now ,just dive in. Pick something , order it and get started. Be happy you didn't buy a $200 mall kiosk kit. BTW most ecig stuff is considered disposable except for mods and higher end stuff . After about 300-500 charges your batteries from your starter kit will need replaced. Juice delivery systems, whether cartomizer, atomizer, stardust vivi nova etc all vaporize nicotine liquid that is fed to a coil by a wick. This coil will get gunked up and eventually lose performance and/or fail. There are threads here with tips to extend the life of whatever you choose.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

ETA: In the time it took to type this I noticed you chose the KGO. Good choice.

Just purchased the Kgo starter kit. Here is the clearomizer it comes with "2pcs. empty SLB 2.0ohm EGO Clearomizers. Primed with flavorless PG to prevent broken wick fibers."

Do I need to get the flavorless PG out? will it just pour out to place the juice in? I purchased 5 10ml bottles. So when it comes in I just uncrew the top, pour in the liquid, wait a few minutes and start vaping??

Rather than the Clearomizers I would have suggested the Mini Vivi Nova rebuildable- about $10 but far better quality than the Stardust- also better draw IMO.

Eliquid is a combination of PG, VG and nicotine so pour the PG out and add your nic juice. tilt the tank to fully saturate the wick and vape. Remember the Kgo will be turned off. Click the button 5 times to turn it on. Actually the PG in the clearo is a nice touch cuz sometimes the clearo needs washing first. Have yet to meet anyone unhappy with their kgo.
Here's a preview of what you'll be getting

Welcome, and good choice! Finding your dream juice is tougher than finding good equipment. Make sure you look at various threads on ECF. We all have our favorites but they may turn out not to your favorites. The high quality juice vendors do make a difference though!

My favorites:

Heathers Heavenly Vapes
Backwoods Brew
Virgin Vapors
Copper Creek

They are excellent- easy to use, great vape and rebuildable BUT you need the 1.8 ohms heads.

Awesome, picked up this clearomizer as well. After trying to convince the wife that this is probably the best way to start out on vaping shes still insistent on obtaining a cig-a-like.. so I believe I will point her in the direction of the Volt. Any experience with these anyone?

You can use any liquid from any supplier you want and Hoosier has some on his site. If you were a mod to heavy smoker would suggest 18mg to start. 80/20 pg/vg is what a lot of vendors use. But check different sites some let you choose another blend. I have tried his big red gum at 40/60 I think it was and it's pretty good will try others next order. The kggo v2 comes with the clearos but if you can swing it would get a vivi nova also. It comes with 3 heads and you can try the diff resistance to see what you like. ok so I have decided to go with the Kgo--> KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

Now I found a thread here about juice suppliers so I believe I have that covered.. Next questions that I havent really been able to find a definite yes or no to is about the clearomizers and cartomizers. Basically the same thing?? Ones just clear right? Also, will any clear/cartomizer that is 510 worth with the Kgo? The Kgo is 1.5ohms stable, but Im guessing it is capable of higher resistance, correct? Will the Kgo be able to run a dual coil without getting terribly hot? Im thinking I would like to go with a clearomizer with as much vape as possible therefore I would have to find a high resistance correct?

Which site did you decide on for juice?
