I have calibrated meters at work.. If I can, I'll throw my provari (soon to have a second one in my grasp!!) on there, and see just how close it really is..

FWIW, I'd bet they're well within a small tolerance (say 5% or so)

I have them at home... been there, done that- it's accurate and rounds appropriately.

me too .. mine charge to 4.0 and once in a while 4.1

Are checking with the provari and the atty screwed on? If you are, that's loaded voltage, try unscrewing the atty and see what it says.

duh duh duh ... forgot about the loaded voltage thingie .. checked it without anything screwed on it and it's 4.2. Thanks!

Anyone have their batteries only charging to 4.0 volts? Not sure if its my charger or not.

Actually, I've been testing against the Pila charger and fwiw, most of the time they ususally come off the charger between 4.17 and 4.18V (rarely it goes to 4.19) - Similar tests with the IMRs were giving me consistently between 4.20V. and 4.21V Not to worry, it's acutally better for your battery and you won't notice the few extra pokes, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Okay, Heres the results.. I grabbed a few attys, at varying resistances, and was able to test both my Satin provari, and my (just came in today) Black chrome Provari. For all tests, both Provaris were turned down to 3.3V

Tested with a Fluke F87V, last calib. May 6th, 2011.
Using a 510-510 adapter with alligator leads connected to the

Thank you for taking the time. :)

jimho, have you or anyone you know of done a discharge graph on the Provape 2500 to see how it holds against say an AW P18650 2600? I only ask as I know that one 2600mah AW holds a higher level of output for longer than most P18650's and is not far removed from the IMR 18650's.

Thanks for any info you may have! :)

I haven't plotted it and don't have the equipment to do so properly- I think you'd need to use something like a CBA III and program it for random 10-15 second clips and long (1-5 min random) off cycles to get a real picture. I can't bring myself to spending $300 and the time it would take to program one of them to run that kind of test....

That said, I can tell you from my experience the 2500's sit at/above 3.7 as measured on the provari (ligtly loaded) for most of the cycle and then drops off quickly.

If you're looking at using it on a ProVari- you can't use the AW2600 (without surgery) anyways.... Absent of a test that actually simulates vaping, most of us are qualitatively satisified with the 2500's -
While I think data is always good, sometimes, its enough to go with qualitative data- there's no arguing that you get much longer run time with these on the ProVari.

VS the 2600 on another device (I think I know what you're aiming at) .... would be interesting to see test results (from real/repeatable automated tests)- That said, if I had a stash of 2600's and didn't need the button top, I wouldn't run out and get a bunch of these with the hopes that they would run longer/better than the AW's....

Sorry I don't have more- hope it helps you...

The specs on those new (?) protected aw batteries are phenomenal. The p18650 2600mah can put out up to what, 8 amps? I think I read somewhere. Battery technology is really starting to improve and get cheaper, great for vaping :p

We're not way too far off from a penstyle provari with nano vapor sensing/switching technology. It will even tell u of u have bad breath

I was aware of the inability to use the AW P18650 2600 due to its flat top on my Provari but love it due to its amazing "high drain-like" perfermance. I thank you very much for your input on the Provape 2500. Your feedback is based on more knowledge than most (if not all) have on the subject and it greatly appreciated.

I will order a couple of the 2500's for my Provari. :)

So with testing, for some reason 1 of my batteries read 4.2 off the charger with CB option and an atomizer on it.

Next battery comes off charger with same atomizer and reads 4.0. However, I take off the atomizer and it reads 4.2

I'm not totally sure if this is reducing its run time, but I think it may be, and it seems odd me .

I see similar things- usually for a second or two a freshly charged battery will show 4.2 and then drop down to 4.0- remember, the provari puts a bit of load on the battery.......much more than your dmm will....

I'm not using a DMM. I'll take 2 fresh charged batteries, pop one in provari. It reads 4.2. I'll Pop another one in, reads 4.0, same set up, nothing changed. It only shows true voltage when I remove the atomizer on my provari, then it reads 4.2 andnot 4.0.

Its just inconsistent, and I've proven its not the charger. Its just strange. They both still last a really long time so I'm not complaining too much, but I may send in the one that reads 4.0 at underload off the charger

I received 2 of these batts with my ProVari since I received it on the 24th, I already charged them 8 times each. Is this normal or am I just a really heavy vaper? When the LED starts flashing I use it a few more times & then change it out & charge. I am already planning to get to 18500's for out & about use and I'm thinking I'll kill these in no time. Any thoughts? I do check them with no atty or carto on it & reads at 4.1V average.

I use LR DCC's at 3.7V or 3.8V & fluxomizers at around 4.5-5.5V.

I have my LO off so I vape it to the 3.3 Sometimes I feel like I get 2-3 days, and sometimes just one. I think I really just vape more some days, who knows?

i don't get it; do you check the voltage on the batt after the light blinks? that tells you if you are running it down to what...
should be low 3's.

Could be a flakey battery- could be crud/juice/oxidation on the battery's ends (you might want to clean them with some achohol or polish)-

As Ukeman said, check the voltage when it starts flashing... That was happening to me about 2 weeks ago - I swapped out springs, cleaned the batteries and connectors (see details a few pages back) and now all is good. If your unit is brand new contact provape- something is wrong. Otherwise, sounds like it needs a cleaning on the inside.....

Hello , i have been facing the same problem , my batts just dont seem to be lasting , which charger are you using !!
I am also using dcc's on the provari ... i have now gone ahead and ordered the pila charger with provape and am hoping that it will help my issue .

"" Hi all and hope my message finds you all in great health and spirit .
I have been using the provari for about 3 months now and love it , recently started using the clear smoketech xl ( 2.5ml capacity) cartomizers on the provari and was getting only about 1-2 hours of vaping off the 1600 mah hd batts . i sent the provari back to provape and David ( a complete sweetheart he is ) checked it and sent it back to me along with a free 2500 mah batt and the plastic ring , i am now using the 2500 mah batt and getting about 3 hours from the dc's , i do not chain vape ... any one else getting a low run time off the provaris with dual coils on them , i am using them on 3.9 volts ...
thanks and warm regards
Sah . ""
