I might as well confess I am a dual User, but wanting to only vape.

I know I can do it, but it is easier to light up than to be bewildered by cravings.

I hope I can do it, for health reasons and financial reasons also.

I had one of my last cigarettes today at 17:00 and are now vaping.

This post might be the final one in which I change my life for good.

I have already smoked a packet today and want to utilise this moment for a long time.

If I am going to quit smoking for the long run.

I had my last at 16:55 and started to vape at 17:00. Today I will change my own thinking and do as I please with either premade or DIY juices

Turn the computer off and go for a walk!
Smoke, vape, hop, skip, jump...whatever, go OUTSIDE!

    Cheers

P2PLeon, what you've been doing for however long now, has failed every time. You've received a lot of good advice and that has all failed. It's time to do something different.

Instead of posting about what you are going to do and then failing, succeed, and then post about that.

Nobody here can do it for you.

I have changed my banner to show the time I started to vape and quit smoking.

This will be my last post in this thread, due to everyone not wanting to hear about failures.

It is all so easy to just light up and smoke, but it is willpower that is needed to quit, I have little to none. But I will have to use some to get me to quit. For this is key to success, but what is success if I can not write about struggles.

Leon, Leon, Leon...You are SO MUCH more than simply someone struggling to break a bad habit.

Enough distractions! Dual use and focus on the real issues and problems in your life. (Smoking/vaping can be sorted later.)

    Oh, and again...GO OUTSIDE! Walk.

    Best of luck mate.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The answer to your "problem" has already been given to you. Your "problem" is you look at dual use as a failure and you will accept nothing but a complete switch to vaping as a success.

You put all your focus on this "failure" (dual use - which isn't a failure at all), therefore you are a failure in your mind.

Your problem isn't as much your lack of will power to stay off cigarettes as it is your mindset and your all-or-nothing attitude.

I'm not a believer in the New Age BS that says you are never a failure. Sometimes you will fail. But dual use is not a failure!

Maybe you will always be a dual user. It's possible. But if dual using means you smoke less cigarettes, then that is not a failure, it simply is not the success you were looking for.

The only way I would see dual use as a failure is if you are smoking just as many cigarettes as you normally do and you throw vaping on top of that, then yes, that would pretty much be a failure in terms of this context (because you didn't replace a bad addiction with a less bad addiction, you just piled one on top of another).

I have never said this before on this forum: I am a dual user too. How's that!

My wife is disabled and smokes two packs of Newports a day. I have to light them for her and hold them and put them out. She is one small step from hospice care, and smoking is about the only pleasure she has left. Her disability is due to a fall and a spinal cord injury and she is paralyzed from the neck down. You want to talk about adversity? Sorry if I don't have a lot of patience with other people's problems that seem smaller.

With her smoking like that and me helping her, it's just not realistic for me to quit the ciggs now. I've replaced about 50% of my smoking with vaping, and that's what I can sustain right now. It doesn't stop me from coming on here and talking about vaping and learning things (right UncleJunkle?).

There's probably a dozen other dual users on this forum, and you know what - I don't care. Nobody is going to judge. If a person like you wants to quit, more power to you. But you've got to be realistic about what is possible, and if there are other issues that need to be addressed first, take care of them first.

I am sorry to hear about this @Ed Brown.

I am not judging you, but, your is a real-life situation, and I do not know what mine is.

I just do not know how it is stemmed from a day when I used to see my father.

Perhaps it is because I am a Paranoid Schizophrenic that has been inside a mental institute a number of times that when I was in, I was smoking to ease the pain that I will someday get out. As there was nothing to do but to watch tv or smoke.

I have been smoking since I was 15 and I am now 39 years of age coming this October.

So about 24 Years of smoking and a habit that is embedded into my core.

I have a smoking clinic running at my health center that I get my injections.

Usually, you are put onto a smoking plan for you not to smoke when ending the first session, but they support you every step of the way as you may reduce smoking for a number or weeks, months, years.

Like the one, I had seen previously wanted you to quit there and then.

Not with these, they want their patients to be smoke-free. And it does not matter how long it takes. But the end result is either you smoke less or have quit altogether.

And Leon is in a similar situation in that he lives with his mother and his mother smokes and he buys her cigarettes for her. She's also very much against him vaping. Plus, Leon has a medical condition and folks who have that medical condition are known to be addicted heavily to smoking (when they are smokers, not all of them smoke).

These factors make dual use a success, not a failure, assuming that his vaping reduces his smoking.

Don't let your mental issue become an excuse. I, too, have spent time in a psychiatric hospital. They permitted smoking but not vaping because they couldn't control what substances went into the ecigarette. So I would smoke while I was an inpatient and as soon as I was released, I went straight back to vaping. There have been other people with psychological disorders to make the switch from smoking to vaping. You are not a paranoid schizophrenic, but a person with paranoid schizophrenia. Don't let the your disorder define you.

I have changed my banner and it should probably stay the same.

The reason is, is that this morning I started to smoke my mothers' cigarettes, which was 3. Then purchased some more from the shop and tried to give mother the 3 back, but she only took 1. So had 4 more before 13:00 today so 7 in all, with the banner I am using, It does not change during Daylight Savings Time, so is 1 hour behind when the clocks are 1 hour ahead.

I have been vaping since that time and am using my 6mg Peach at low wattage. about 20 watts from a 0.52-0.56Ω coil. Dependant on what Mod I put it on.

No, No trolling, just genuine updates as to how I have been.

You can see that I do not come on all the time. Only doing the word game.

If I was trolling, I would not know about resistance or other things that make an ecig a viable aid in quitting smoking.
