The blue dot will still show up when there are new posts in a thread

Right--I edited my post.

(and you can just click on the title, not necessary to click on the blue dot, to reach first unread post).

Really? I thought that clicking on the title takes you to the first page...

NM.

Say you want to Unwatch more than one thread, click the checkboxes, then click Manage Watched Threads at the top right. You can then click on Stop Watching Threads, and voila! :)

Aha! I had no idea.

Thanks, Sonic!

ETA: It does take me to the first page. Just checked.
It always did on the old ECF, but this software acts a bit differently.

Having said that, I have noticed that on occasion (anecdotally, it seems to be if you've not been in a thread for awhile) you will have to fine-tune into the blue dot instead. I click on the title always and 99% of the time end up on first unread.
Thanks, Sonic!
YVW :)

I just tried it on a thread with a new post, and it works--clicking on the title took me to the last read. When I click on a watched thread with no new posts, it goes to the first page. And yes, the blue dot isn't perfect, but it's useful for fast moving threads. That said, I'm switching to your method on clicking on thread title. Thanks again!

That's exactly how it should behave.

YVW, again :)
Me too. But I'm totally switching to Sonic's method--so much easier to click on the thread title than trying to hit that little iffy blue dot just so. ;)
That's why I click on the title - easier w/my bad eyes, especially if I'm on my tablet or phone!

Is it just me or did someone mess with the background color scheme of the old "ECF" theme?
OK, it's just me. Or to be more specific, something wonky with Chrome, at least on this machine. I've had a fairly busy day and haven't had a chance to pursue it fully.

I just ran into one glitch with Aluminum. I was scrolling by and saw the Ask the Vets/Vets board. The vet are fine but the Ask the Vets screen is all messed up, with no visible posts, and stuff like my member box in the upper right hand corner popping up on the left, along with members online. There's also no navigation button to get out of it. I checked on the "stock" UI and all looked OK.

Edit: just looked again and all is normal, don't know if that was fixed or just glitched as an isolated event

And added a few pictures to the walls (ads), not a bad thing unless it becomes cluttered. :)

Although I do realize that "The costs of running this huge site are paid for by ads" and the only way to remove them is by becoming a PAID Supporting Member (BTW: There are some of "US" that are very much ECF supporting members on a very limited budget to cover that expense  ) . . . However, trying to view ECF using the New ECF Theme via a "Smartphone" is absolutely ridiculous, especially with an AD after each and every post of "Stuff" I would never purchase . . . I wish there was a "HATE" button somewhere to click . . . Just Sayin' . . . :-x  :censored: :censored: :censored:

So sorry, ((((Uncle))))), for your woes. Wish I could help... Adblock?

I wish we had a "sympathy" (and/or "hugs") button.

That's so very nice of "You" to say, however not going to worry about to much since I usually visit ECF on a laptop using a couple of Ad Blockers and not a "Smartphone" . . . ;)

In reality the AD problem actually effects all the other people who Do Not have any other options to block ADs and only have their "Smartphones" to access ECF . . . Worse are those people who don't have unlimited internet/data plans and have to pay to have them all downloaded when they go over their limits . . . :(
