For me the eVic is the winner by far when compared to the Provari for the following reasons:

1. I don't need a separate charger! This is such a big selling point for me. This is the number 1 reasons that it outclasses the Provari by far!
2. I can use it while charging (passthhrough) with the 1.3 firmware.
3. I can charge it in my car with the standard mini-USD cable and there is no need to buy a separate car charger like in the case of the Provari.

Because of these points, the eVic, IMHO, leaves the Provari in the dust. The build quality is not the same, but who cares? For half the price you get a decent eVic kit (battery included). If it breaks I'll buy another one. I am using a Kanger Pro tank and works perfectly with my eVic, I am vaping at 4.7V and it lasts all day long (and I am a chain vaper). I owned a year ago a Provari and a Provari Mini and because I forgot many times to charge the batteries I got back to analogs. Now with eVic I hope to stick to vaping. With the Provari I always need to have spare batteries handy. Hope this helps!

In addition a spare battery tube, battery and charger will only set you back about $45 USD. I used to be a one battery person but I now have another 18650 and a shorty tube 18350. I have one 18650 charging, one with me, and an 18350 for the end of my day when the big battery goes low. I run 8~10.5 WATTS on everything and am happy with the overall performance and durability of the product(eVic) after months of use.

I hesitated to make the jump to external chargers and such since the evic had it built in, but the vamo was pretty cool and having to charge those batts in the evic was annoying. Got a nitecore x4, but then I started stacking in the vamo so I needed the shorty 18350 tube for the evic.. (Now it always travels in short mode. Battery life is pretty short but it just looks way better.)

The battery thing is a slippery slope, even if you don't end up buying (and junking) the wrong kind. Found a usb phone-charger pack that takes 4 18650s the other day, so of COURSE I wanted 4 fresh batts to go in it.. on top of the 2 that I have.. and the 4 18350s.. and the 1 18650 that came with the evic.. and... I might have a problem. :)

Perfect example of a life changing harm reduction strategy turning into a HOBBY. :2cool::toast:

I don't want to take care of charging batteries. I don't want to learn about charging batteries, albeit I did learn more than I wanted to know. People forget that using analogs is straight forward: you take a cigarette from the pack, light it and you're good to go. I came often tired at home and fell asleep immediately. I often forgot to charge my batteries. This sent me back to analogs in the past. So for me the biggest advantage of the eVic is that I can charge it while I vape and all I need is a USB-minUSB cable. That's a BIG point! For me it's the biggest!

Not disagreeing with the simplicity of charging the eVic. I do however charge my phone, data pad and a few other items every day. So it just becomes part of the daily routine after a short time.

Does the eVic use the same cable as the Samsung Galaxy S3 or Nexus 10? Does anybody know?

Uses the same cable as my sprint phone and nearly every other model on the market (mini micro USB). If not you can get an adapter from a computer store like Micro Center so you don't have to carry a bunch of cables with you.

wow, that took forever to post.

Hey weisner. Used to have a condo on Bear in CM near South Coast Plaza. Live in IL now. God I miss SoCal weather!

I know the exact area and have rented there myself just off Baker near the 55 FRWY. The everything is pretty much like it has always been; good weather, great beaches, and a lot of people that don't know how good they have it.

For those interested. In EU for sure Besserdampfen.de delivers new evics. Just had mine in the mail today.

Is satin silver or chrome,

I saw myvaporstore now have 3 options for color on the complete kit, chrome, white, black.. And no option for the original satin silver.

I got a reply from myvaporstore.com

"Dear Dax,

We no longer stock the greyish-silver color. We will only carry chrome, black and white.
Our current stock are all the updated version with two support screws in control head."

I will asume that the updated version are the new colors, i think the grayish-silver is not updated.. Just my opinion.

Myvaporstore.com are awesome they always are ready to help customers. I just ordered my chrome eVic woohooo can,t wait to get it

Never assume

The Head is the exact same for all colors of eVic.

Yeah i know, but, hmmmm!! They have all the new models with the 2 screws on the head in the new colors and they dont carry anymore the old satin silver version.. That tells you something, from now on im considering the chrome, black and whit as the new revised version and the satin silver as the old non revised version..

but at least they confirm i will recived the revised version.

I will email jouytech to confirm this,
