Usually for new mixers I would recommend something around 48 or 60, but right now I'd say go for 100. As Rossum said, it takes up less space. Also you get more bang for your buck if you factor in shipping costs. Maybe buy some lower nic for now to learn and plan on getting 100 for stockpiling now or later.

With 100 mg/ml, it makes it more flexible for mixing as well (as far as PG/VG ratio) since you have to add so much less to your mix, you can adjust the PG/VG to a broader range even if your nic is one or the other. This probably doesn't make much sense to you at the moment, but once you start learning to mix it will.

So when you buy a large bottle, liter or gallon and put it in the freezer does it freeze like an ice cube or does it stay in a liquid form? If liquid form then you can just take out a small amount when you need it, right?
They both stay in liquid form. You should fill multiple smaller bottles for storing for a long period of time because every time you open the bottle oxygen gets in there and that is what causes the oxidation of the nicotine.

It stays liquid, but it does get thicker. It's recommended to divide it out into smaller bottles, say 30-60 ml each, then take a small bottle out and let it warm to room temperature first so you don't get condensation. I just leave that bottle out at room temperature once it is out of the freezer. The RT shelf life is long enough to leave it out for a while.

For stockpiling, I put larger orders of nic into large glass bottles (500 ml) and put that in the freezer. Once I'm out of the previously divided small bottles, I wash and reuse those bottles to divide the next large batch and proceed as I've described above.

^That way I don't have to buy (and label) 50 or so small glass bottles for multiple liters of nic.

Wow! Thanks Spazmelda! I should have learned all of this years ago but I put my head in the sand and was hoping I would never need to learn! I am hoping to find vapers who live close to me and maybe we can go through the learning process together!

everything you need to know is right here on ECF ... some helpful folks here at ECF know just as much if not more than most juice vendors.

Thanks cousin! Would you mind providing some further info on a bottle source and an estimate on how many bottles you would recommend!
You all are so helpful here!
If you are ordering from Nude Nic, just get their Armor V1 in 125 ml (~4-oz) bottles. It's freezer-ready, in brown glass bottles, and the air in the head-space has been displaced with argon to minimize oxidation. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but it's completely hassle-free. I've got more than a few liters of this.

If I were more cost conscious, then I would buy nic in 1-liter plastic bottles and re-bottle it into good quality glass bottles myself, either 120ml or 60 ml.

How much nic do you go through and how many years worth do you plan to stock?

i would suggest stocking up on the highest mg nicotine possible in the largest amount posible. VG can be purchased freely for cosmetic/medical/and food purposes it is not going any where. flavorings that are food grade used in vaping....are the same same flavorings used and are meant to be used for food purposes, but work for both. So, probably cant touch flavors either unless labeled for vaping. So as long as you stock a basement full of 55 gallon drums full of the purest nicotine money can buy, you shouldnt have any problems and will have the ability to form a black market gorrilla vape shop :)

Everybody has their own approach. Here's how I've set things up. My nic comes from myfreedomsmokes. I ordered a 1 liter bottle of 100mg nic in 100% PG. In that order I included 4 250 ml amber glass bottles and divided the nic into those. It takes me about a year to empty one of those. Additional 1 liter bottles of nic are transfered into 1 liter amber glass bottles for longer term storage wrapped in bubble wrap from the original shipping materials. In 4 years when the 250 ml bottles are empty I'll transfer one of the 1 litter bottles into the 250 ml bottles and start the process again.

At the current stocking level it will all fit on the door shelf of the freezer. If necessary I'll get a 1 cu. foot medical freezer dedicated to nic. I'd ike to avoid that.

Thanks Rossum! During the school year, I'm a teacher, I go through maybe 6 ml a day and on my off days probably double that! Soon to retire so i am going to say at most 15 ml per day! I am 60 so a 20 year supply should be plenty! OMG! 20 years!!!!!!! I guess I should pray that the juice vendors I love will be able to meet all the FDAs hoops so they can jump through!

The problem for juice vendors is the $1m price tag per application. They'll need some deep pockets.

T

Application must be made for each item, examples..
100MG NIC/PG...Application
100MG NIC VG...Application
100MG NIC 50/50...Application
50MG NIC PG...Application
50MG NIC VG...Application
50MG NIC 50/50...Application

Any change of any ingredient requires a new Application.
See the trouble with this???
We will be highly limited wrt choices. Cheers.
