lol...anxiety is kicking in I think...worrying now since y'all said mini might be too small/hard for me to work on.

(yes, I can have bouts of OCD)

Don't worry a bit. It's actually much easier than some of the comments make it seem if you take your time and have some patience. The key (IMHO) is the wick oxidizing part of setup. I overkill that part and find any subsequent issues pretty much go away. Other thing to remember with setup is it's not an "all-or-nothing" game. Once put together, a short or hotspot is remedied quite easily with a coil nudge or a wick twist so if not perfect at first it's not a fail that requires a "complete restart". DIDs just like a little TLC...

Why? I just syringe out old juice, add new juice, if I feel fussy, I pull wick, ( my set up allows my pulling wick without disturbing coil,) burn off wick add a bit of new juice to wick, burn it, replace. Most of time I just remove old, add new and go for it.

I'm assuming to be able to pull the wick through the coils, they would have to be quite loosely wrapped around the wick. Do they not have to be in contact with the wick to make it work right? What length of kanthal do you cut, and how many wraps do you use?

As long as they're gently hugging the coil you'll be able to twist the wick in and out with slight friction

Kind of the way you'd hug a girl that really wasn't interestedting lol

Corrected your sentence. :p

Here's is a good tutorial on the "Piotr K" method: www.vaporwall.com • View topic - Unoxidised "genisis" SetUp (how to)

I still do the normal oxidize/quench and juice burn steps (unlike Piotr). And, the DID wick hole is 3.5mm so use a tool that fits the bigger hole (that way a wick rolled to just fit the DID wick hole fits perfectly everytime).

Dusty, I've written about my coil making on a larger than wick hole, drill bit. It will explain how its done. I'm on tapatalk right now so can't copy link.

Going to find your post and read up on it.

P.S - my Mesh has shipped. Still no movement on DID or coil wire.

K good news. Time will tell. Really hope it does work. The DID looks very good on a ProV. Its my Fav. combo so far in the DID picture thread.
Striker. My chrome "blem" fits perfect. And like you I was thinking, last chance for a chrome ProVari. As far as the "blemished" part goes, mine looks perfect, and I looked it over with a magnifying glass. :) I just figured it was the "ProVari" etching didn't take paint, but I really like the clean etched look. :)

Hey, Provari guys, what is the summary on problems relating to DID? I am thinking about getting one, haven't paid much attention to problems, but have seen threading issues recently. Currently use volcano lava tube with no problems whatsoever, but like look of Provari, should I hold off on purchase, or go for straight mechanical mod? Your opinions will be most welcome.

No problems with my ProVari. I've got several Buzz's & they're lighter & work great too. Only if I could find some how to fill the gap between the DID and the top of the Buzz to make as clean looking as the ProV.

I found that most of the time when the short seems to be at the top its actually one coil under it. The part that glows is not shorting. Its just working better then the lower coil. Think of it like a water hose. Kink it and the flow shuts or slows down. Will post the next video tomorrow but one more thing on the rolling paper method. I make that paper longer so it goes around the mesh isolating it from the wick hole entirely. It says wet and in place for the life of the wick and coil. Some might see it as overkill. But it gives 0% chance of the wick shorting in the hole.
That's what I've heard too. (haven't experienced this as of yet, but sure enough will no doubt eventually).
Pulling the top wire too taunt while tightening it to the post also will do this. It can cut into your wick just enough to cause a short, or it can bend the wick towards the post and cause a short.
Try twisting your wick a bit. If you can still move your wick with the twist pull, then it's not too tight. Twist moving the wick will also set the wire onto a hopefully non shorted oxidized area. (if oxidize is the problem due to too tight of coil and the coil cut through the wick's oxidiization).

Hope you get those errors fixed!
I so want to pick up a provari! They've scared me from the get go, ever since they first came out. Me and numbers do not get along... and me an menu's are even worse! You should see me with the stupid car radio/cd player. OMG! Just find a song!!
But I aim to get the Mini Pro soon, before we're stuck with hospital payments for the rest of our lives. First is the Precise + though. I've done made up mind AGAIN lol. (I like to confuse myself with various perpetually changing goals).

Cloud...I've noticed myself and had many reports of the VMAX and the gripper...also a lot of PWM chipset device all having a buzzing sound right where the board is inside the mod. Hate to be the bad news guy but some of the recent reports I've been PM'd has said their device is now dead (only the ones that"buzzed') their mechanical mods are fine. I'm NOT saying this will happen to yours but it seems a few different types of R.A.'s have this effect on certain circuitry's. I've just finished my CAD drawing of my custom mechanical that I'm making for myself just for the DiD and mini DiD so no more electronic devices for the DiD for me. I designed them especially for the DiD and a 'kick' if I want to put mine in it.
The Provari and Buzz Pro's have the error safety features that will protect the electronics in case of short. Right?
The mechanical mods have the collapsing spring in case of short. right?

I hope to have both the P+ and the mPro before the year's out.
and more DID's :)

Looking forward to new inventions too, and designs.

Good evening everyone! Just bought a second DID today off the classies, also got my first provari today in the mail:party:
This thing is amazing! Its my first genesis type atty and couldnt be more thrilled with each vape. Well I went to mount her up on the provari and i couldnt get it to thread down more than like 2 threads. I got the provari used so it could be the threads a lil worn on it, but everything else I own threads on fine. So Im just rockin it with an adapter for the time being. It fits perfect on my silver bullet and the wick hole lines up perfect with the button, so I dont wanna mess that up by tightening too much. Gonna order up tap and die for the 510 connections on amazon here in a lil to clean the threads up on both. Maybe the second one will be a better fit.

Cheer up Classy! The mini is probably easy too, just not *as* easy as the regular sized DID. You'll just have to roll your wick smaller... around the straightened Safety Pin (large?) or a Medium sized straightened Paperclip.
You'll be fine, I'm sure!
I apologize for scaring you, that wasn't my intent. :(

Humm maybe go find the gripper thread and ask around, im using the DID, vivi nova and the vivi tank and no buzz at all here.

Ohm checking the sam any time i check them, im really liking this gripper.

It seems to be only the "true" RBA's , not the Vivi's. RBA's like the Did, Line, G.Maxi/mini,Hellfire,SGV3,the real RBA's that are "custom" made not commercially made, that's what I've gathered anyway. I'm still getting info to see if I can figure it out, even my 4 VMAX's whine/buzz in the circuit board with my DiD and GTank US which is heading to the classies (GTank) NOT my DID.....NEVER EVER !!
