I run a 2/3 wrap and love it honestly. I have a fairly fat wick, 45mm if memory serves, but it has no trouble keeping up even when chain vaping. But, I'm running straight 32awg, no twisted or anything, couldn't be happier. It's a beast

I was/still am dealing with this exact issue. I just picked up 29 ga and I do a 4/5 at 1.3 ohms. Imo you really need to to be around 1.5 ohms or a little lower to get that warm vapor off 3.7 volts. I'm getting closer and closer to my sweet spot, thicker wire has been serving me well and gives tons of vapor. If you want that instant crackle like you get in a carto, lower ohms is priority numero uno. For me, 2.4 ohms was dreadfully slow to heat up, 2.0 was better but still required a primer puff or two, 1.4 is instant on every time

And yeah mine gets really hot all the time. I'd hate to see what a ss drip tip would be like. If you just sit there and puff on it will get too hot to touch

I fell asleep with mine in my hand. I turned on. I heat woke me up. I couldn't put my lips on it. But I kept trying. :)

My DiD started acting up on me today. All of a sudden, the bottom part of the tank gets really hot. What could be the problem?

I would expect the bottom part of your wick is not completely oxidized and is touching the inside base of the tank causing a short. I hope that the experts can chime in and confirm my thoughts but it could be something you can check and see while we're waiting. :)

That sounds right.
If lifting the wick doesn't solve the heat problem, take it completely apart, bathe it, dry overnight, and see if that helps.

It could also be a short at the connector. Perhaps the plastic spacer has been damaged from over tightening the nut on the positive post.

You don't need to oxidize the bottom part and it can touch the bottom. Upper part where coil touches the mesh counts. So, I would take it out and give it a quick burn (10 sec) with the torch.
If that doesn't help, take it appart and make sure that you don't have any juice (or water) inside the inner tube (happened to me after cleaning it and not making sure that insulation spacers are tight).
Have some other ideas, but check this first.

I posted other day some pictures of DID + Caravela.
That was 18350 satin Caravela + DID standard + Caravela drip tip (short DID would look much better in my opinion).

Anyways, here is 18650 tube + DID standard satin + Jim's drip tip that I received today (fits perfectly and also mini on mini DID, now I need satin mini).
