New Genesis type atomizer by DID!

I need some help please, I have a short DID that is firing inconsistently . I have tried taking it apart and cleaning it and using cape cod on all the brass parts but still no luck , I have adjusted the firing pins on different mods and still no luck. I also notice that my threads on the 510 get black quite quickly. I have a stable coil 30awg 3/4 wrap and great vapor and flavor when it does fire, I have checked the nuts are nice and tight, sometimes it fires great sometimes not at all or very weakly. Any suggestions please?

I ran into that with my Standard DID and I took it completely apart and cleaned it all up, even hit the brass center post with some neverdull and a dremmel polishing pad and got it all nice and shiny . Then the hard part. That center tube that the post goes through ALSO needs to be cleaned thoroughly and after everything has been polished and thoroughly cleaned, attack that sucker inside and out in every crevice with hot soapy watter to completely clean it. Then rinse until it is totally soap free. Put it all back together and try that out. If this does not work there is a possibility that you may need to replace a part or two. Namely the center pin, nuts and O rings.

Thanks Nate, I did not clean the centre tube but I cleaned everything else.I will try that next , bit bummed ,got an EPIC coil going at the moment

OMG!! Don't I know it. I just got done making a new coil because mine got all bent out of shape when I took out the wick and dry burned it. I hit it with the cleaning electric toothbrush like usual but one of the bristles got caught this time and pulled it out of shape and I could not get it to go back into position no matter how hard I tried. Got another new one though and it is working EPIC as well

I usually use some tightly rolled up paper towel to clean out the inside of that center tube really good. I got my Standard used and I don't think it had ever been cleaned, it was blackened on the inside LOL Paper towel and some patience got it all working good again though

Check the positive pin in bottom of DID connector, just today one 1 of my DID'S was firing erratically and it turned out the pin in DID connector was the problem that i fixed and now fires fine.

Looking forward to higher capacity DID. ; )
Was even thinking how i could make the ones i have bigger. lol

Glad to hear its still epic LOL. I am going to try cleaning that center tube tomorrow and hopefully have her firing up how she should.

I know I have taken a small sheet of high grit wet sand paper and placed it on the kitchen counter to get a nice even sanding done on it to remove any corrosion or gunk that may be on it and still maintain a nice even surface for good contact with the devices firing pin.

I had a very very thin washer laying around in my model train parts bin made from some sort of plastic that the pin fit through so it raised it some.

My other DID is fine but i want to order stainless posts, nuts, and new spacers as opposed to the brass positive post and nuts i still use.
But i wait until the larger DID comes out and order everything at same time instead of paying shipping twice.

I know you direct question to Nate but in addition to my above reply if i may, its the threaded pin that goes through your DID and gets tighten by the knurl nuts on top if it does not make good contact with your device's 510 connector it may not fire properly.

Seen this issue before as well. The white plastic (Delrin, Teflon?) spacer can become compressed after use. If you need to extend the positive pin a little (the long threaded pin that goes all the way from base to top nuts) you can pop the spacer out of the base from the inside and put in one of the extra tiny o-rings Jim provides and then reinsert the spacer. Also, be sure to recheck the bottom nut in the top cap after putting on a PV. Sometime the center pin gets pushed up a bit when you twist it onto a PV and the top will loosen (it's very sneaky - this one got me - when you take it off the PV it tightens back up so you only see it if it's on a PV Pretty good)

In a pinch, you can cut one out of a milk jug. There's no Heat at the bottom so it'll hold till you can get either a replacement spacer (Jim has them on his site) or a proper oring.

Think MacGyver... The DIDs are intentionally designed to be simple. When all else fails do what Tony does and start taking apart appliances for spare parts.

LMAO @ These Guys Yep Exactly what they said That little bugger can be a pain if it is tarnished as well. Mine glistens it is so shiny and it stays that way because I clean it up often. I notice a marked improvement in vaping quality when I keep all my gear properly maintained and free of tarnish or crud of any kind
