Ok it's getting a bit better as Im getting better at the coils, but tell me about the center pole details. I get a hot spot right off the top coil at the brass nut. And none of my coils are glowing but it's smoldering vapor, but still a huge lack in flavor...if any at all. I am determined to get this thing rockin. It allllllmost met Mr.5 lb. ball-peen hammer last night, I had to just walk away.

It shouldn't be this hard..... I just want to vape !!!!!!
First I only put on the second nut (first is at the bottom). Then I make my lovely coil....not too tight as to choke the wick. I then take the kanthal and go completely around the center post.... you will have to work it around the coil a bit to get that full turn. The wick should be almost touching the nut. Then I screw down the second nut carefully trapping the wife. Then soak the wick with liquid and do some short nurse test fire. If no hotspots then life is good. If there is a short at the center post then try to either move wick closer or further away a fraction. Soak again with juice and do some short firing. Flip it upside down and keep holding the fire button. You should see a fair bit if vapor billowing. Check the top connector one last time with a good healthy amount of juice. Put the lid on and enjoy.

Man thats a HELLA drip tip.....you could give someone a vaping enema with that thing .....lol.. lollollolol
I bet thats a smooth feel, looks very slick

I also have one...Tanbur SS tip from Super T Manufacturing. It's outstanding so long as you're careful not to poke out an eye ;)

It is indeed smooth, unbelievably comfortable and functions perfectly.

Looks great = congrats, for those who are interested, those pics or any pics dont do the DID justice - Looks much better in person, just sayin

Agreed, owning and using all three is infinitely better than any pic can convey.

In fact I may make this pic my avatar and turn the aspirational into the inspirational!!!!

Looking forward to receiving my DID, one question I have is why is that center poll made from brass instead of SS ? Any particular reason ? as we know most brass will oxidize or is this a special brass that doesn't oxidize,,, I realize there is another center poll that it runs through so juice isnt in direct contact with it in the juice tank but the juice must get on this piece of Brass up top I would think. I'm just curious about this, maybe someone can chime in here and enlighten me a bit.

Just outside my comfort zone.
Go back to beginning of this thread and watch the video. The juice never contacts the post. I think.

Brass conducts waaaaaaaaaaay better than SS. The brass rod goes through the inner tube so your juice is not in contact with brass rod. Far as oxidizing - its like any mod or rebuildable - you must take them apart and clean them, including the brass parts. Little autosol or flitz works wonders on brass connections.

Inner tube for the DID

Hi mwa, dspin on page 65 post #648 and Jim replies on page 66 post #659 regarding the brass center pin.
