Monoxide, where is she in FL? We pulled into my parents neighborhood last Sunday and there were about 30 on their neighbors roof and another 20 circling around. Its not unusual to see them around but not so many at once.

Weird thing happened since using multiple setups. I used to try put glass or pmma tank on everything before but since using these i dont use a see trough tank on any anymore. Quiet liking the look of full steel mods now!

Monoxide became a METAL MADNESS joint !! lol
welcome Mono!
dspin will be very happy and proud like I am with your post!

Just a quick note on those ceramic wicks. I made another one and torched the daylights out of it. It's working REALLY well. I had used an old air stone that was in an aquarium several months ago so apparently it needed to be cleaned thoroughly! I'm going to make a 1Ω coil and try it to see if it can handle a heavy wicking load. I believe it will.

Oh wow, new vape flavor fish guts...call Phil have him do a review of that old used wick!

Uncharacteristic for me, I'm asking for a personal favor from everyone. (sorry Jim, I know this isn't the right place but I love these folks)

Just got off a 2 hour call with one of my best friends (we served together). His sister in-law was recently diagnosed (8 weeks ago) with triple negative metastatic cancer (spread to brain, liver, spine and sternum) at the age of 38. She is trying to be as comfortable as possible (there is no cure for her at this point). Harder even still, his wife (only 35) went to get checked because of her sister's condition and they found a lump. I'm not overly religious but please send your thoughts and prayers to Nadia and her sister (it may help...)

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, I'm just really sad right now.

I am sorry, my thoughts are with you.

You should (I'm interested in hearing the results).

You got me curious.

This thread is one of those "real time" threads that cant be kept up with unless camped on. :)

Jim,
That means if we leave this thread for 10 minutes it gets very far ahead of us, and it takes a lot of reading to catch up. As you know. ;)

My example I explained last night(ish) was including any current loss thru the device. Now I understand measuring the poles, like you did should be the only variable. However I am convinced after switching just the posts, not the coil, wick, or batt, that I had a harder hitting setup. :2c:

Gotta say, I am having what may be one of the best vaping days ever for me. My Poldiac, topped with a perfectly setup Gemini (recoiled after almost blowing it up the other day), filled with HHV Shadowfax (a new juice for me - extracted tobacco with a kind of RY4 nuance). Just feeling really peaceful and content (kids are obviously in bed already)

I have the remote to myself and made ~5.5 pounds of venison jerky today :toast:

...and yes 12:30am to us Yanks

I used to deliver and install storage buildings for HD. One afternoon I met a customer in Bar Harbor Maine and when we finished up he asked me if I enjoyed jerky. I concurred. He asked if I enjoyed Budweiser in a bottle. I responded that it was the only brew I would consume. He proceeded to bring me 1 lb of venison jerky and explain that for 15 yrs he had been perfecting the flavor to perfectly compliment Bud in a bottle. Well, the evening you just described above was enjoyed in my home among friends one Friday. It was one of those evenings that will stay with one forever. It was truly an experience. I am a steak guy. I could of spent $500 on dinner for 2 at the best steak house in the country and not had half the experience we had that night.

In bartow, it was so cool (bit spooky to) to see so many big birds in one garden.
Probably been same troop, was realy alot.

It has to be a coastal thing, IMHO. They are everywhere here. Jax is also on the water. I lived in the center of the state for 5 yrs (Bartow ish) and I rarely saw them.

CW,
We are losing my wife's aunt. She is 43. Same situation. What more can possibly be said than this^^^. You are not alone, nor are our loved ones moving on.
Were with you man.

I gave this a little more thought and wanted to know why some folks noticed and some didn't. I think it is due to the "Power" calculation.

For someone like Rick running at 0.6ohm@4.2v (assuming fresh batt), 0.05ohm differential = ~2watts (27watts vs 29watts). 2 watts is definitely detectable in the vape quality. For an average vapor building ~1.5ohm@4.2v the difference is ~0.4watts (11.38 vs. 11.78) may not be noticeable at all. For me (sweet spot ~11watts) SS vs Brass post doesn't make a difference in my vaping but as Overall said ^^^ makes a huge difference in ease of setup.

YMMV - For me adding or removing a coil wrap can always get me to a perfect vape. For Rick, he needs to be able to squeeze out every ounce of performance.

I guess the bottom line is that
@0.5ohm - 0.05ohm = 10%
@1.0ohm - 0.05ohm = 5%
@1.5ohm - 0.05ohm = 3.33%
@2.0ohm - 0.05ohm is only 2.5%

Good stuff. You could get another wrap out of it to. :) well maybe but more juice to the coil For sure. My mom always said I has brass b.... Brass under ss pants.

FTR My DID is and was .8Ω or .9Ω. I mostly only vape between .6 and 1.Ω so just 3.7-4.2 rocks. sometimes when the coil gets gunked up I stack Tenergys and vape at 6+V

Your theory makes perfect sense. :)
