There are no health issues with medical grade porous ceramics. They are completely inert. Most are double fired and cleaned as well meaning they are fired/shaped(machined)/fired/cleaned. Most are also free of dust and do no create dust/ash/throw-off below the 1400 degree mark. The few I have looked at and are trying to get samples of are widely available just google medical grade porous ceramics and look for the inert forms. It might take some tweeking to get the porosity right, but I think its a hella good idea. As long as the material can wick and keep a thin layer of juice present on it's top layer it would be the golden egg of genisis atty's.

I'll keep errone up to date as I get info. PM me if you want, dont want to hijack Jims thread. OH and shipping notice recieved I am stoked as all get out!

When you post that ceramic has bad health issues could you back that up, as well as exactly which ceramic your speaking of. Ive been working with a couple different porous ceramics and non porous that are baked in a way where no dust at all comes off of them, so what are you speaking of when you talk about health issues and what ceramics Tonytiger1 ? just curious of your findings on this post and where ?

Also considering the AVA Atty is supposed to be of the healthiest Atty's on the market and of a medical grade with no solder, its all ceramic utilizing porous and non porous ceramics I just find this a bit hard to believe.
Please take this to the Health forum or start another thread in the appropriate forum to debate. This is Jims DID thread, he uses no ceramic or solder, so why has this even come up for debate here.
Thanks

Care to share your order #? Just curious where, in-line, my order (782) is. Tracking says scanned in NYC. Patience is a virtue I was not bestowed.

I have 562 & 737 and haven't heard anything since the greek post said it was shipped (no NYC notification :( ) on the 25th

I tend to agree, Rocket can get it confused with other offerings.

Thanks, Uma! :toast:

Anyone considered cotton wick? I ask because I have almost a full bolt of 100% cotton cheesecloth. I've been making wicks for another, less Genesis-ish, rebuildable "head" tank with it and the wicking is pretty good. I'm considering rolling a thin SS wick with cotton around it to prevent shorts. Does anyone have any reason why this shouldn't be done? I know it must stay wet, so no chain vaping the cotton, but is this a good idea?

That would be great. Wasn't knocking your stuff. I was looking to get away from ss and others and this was something someone posted.

Its fine... I was just looking for something concrete. The link you posted looks as if it was for a ceramic fiber, that has the potential to break down.

I'm thinking a porous ceramic tube, that is used in high temp liquid filtration. Something that has no burn off from the coils... I did a little digging and found a couple of companies that manufacturer these, and have requested that someone contact me. I'll keep you all posted.
