u guys like this but havent answered anything! LOL

I ordered some of that ribbon to try. At 0.024x.004 it's a little wider than what I've seen most common 0.20x.004. It has 8.93Ω/ft (0.744Ω/in) resistance which about = to 30awg=0.721Ω/in. Most of what I've read about using ribbon says it's more efficient than round wire so behaves like a gauge smaller regular wire so it should behave like 28awg.

If I remember correctly, that guy was found to be using "unmatched" stacked unprotected batteries in a homemade mod that had no vent holes (no regard for safety). Stacked batteries are always going to be higher risk of spontaneous discharge, but unprotected/stacked Li-Ion in an unvented tube (really any batt in an unvented PV) is like holding a pipe bomb near your head and saying "it'll never happen to me...".

This explains it perfectly Cloud Wizard, I think I finally understand, I like higher resistance coils and try to go above 1.5 ohms on all of my attys, so as a safety precaution I would be advised to test everything on my provari for shorts and resistance before I use any device with these particular Sennybors ?

Setting up a normal LR on a Provari with those batts would be fine (although they may be too long to fit at 69mm). You're going to get E1/E2 Provari errors before the battery protection circuits will trip. The Provari has built-in saftey features that shut it down before it lets shorts affect the batteries. Out of all me VV/VW devices the Provari is the best for Gennies. It runs solid on anything 1.0Ω+ where as any of the SmokTech circuit stuff shuts off on anything below 1.2Ω (built-in limitations of the devices).

That looks like it would be even lower resistance! If I hadn't already order some of the .024x0.04 I'd buy it. I'd like to try the ribbon out before I start hoarding it.

Ok, I bought some. I'm looking forward to trying ribbon wire after Ive heard so much good about it.

Thats is listed as 1.37Ω/in at 0.031in X 0.004in (1st# is width, 2nd is thickness) which somewhere between 32awg/33awg. I think anything in that range will work might just need +/- 1 coil wrap to get to where you like to vape.

I can't find where it lists Ω/inch. I see 5.57Ω/foot. Where or how do you get that number CW?

I would like to see some detailed meter readings for your devices. Including the attomizers . Be a good sales campaign

Tony
LOL, I actually ordered an inline volt meter just so I can compare under load voltage drops. "Curious minds" want to know...

I clicked on that link and it took me to eBay. Unless I DID something worng here's the details I got by deviding ohms/ft by 12 in.

Kanthal D Ribbon resistance heating flat wire 0.8*0.1mm / 0.031*0.004"

select your lenght: 5 Meter / 10 Meter

- this Kanthal D is the best heating wire for rebuildable atomizer
- it will be shipped on its own spool with 55mm / 2.17" diameter

Product information:
Manufacturer: Kanthal Sweden
max continuous operating temperature: 1300°C ..... 2372°F
resistance at 20°C: 18.26 Ohm/m ..... 5.57 Ohm/ft
select length: 5 Meter / 10 Meter ..... 16.4 feet / 33 feet
width and thickness: 0.8*0.1mm / 0.031*0.004"
alloying elements: Cr 22%, Al 4.8%, Fe remains

Now that I look at it your absolutely CORRECT! I looked at the 16.4 ft from the length... That wire comes in at 0.464Ω/in which almost exactly like 28awg (0.439Ω/in)

here's the spec on the on
Kanthal D Ribbon resistance heating flat wire 0.6*0.1mm / 0.024*0.004"

select your lenght: 5 Meter / 10 Meter

- this Kanthal D is the best heating wire for rebuildable atomizer
- it will be shipped on its own spool with 55mm / 2.17" diameter

Product information:
Manufacturer: Kanthal Sweden
max continuous operating temperature: 1300°C ..... 2372°F
resistance at 20°C: 29.3 Ohm/m ..... 8.93 Ohm/ft
select length: 5 Meter / 10 Meter ..... 16.4 feet / 33 feet
width and thickness: 0.6*0.1mm / 0.024*0.004"
alloying elements: Cr 22%, Al 4.8%, Fe remains

I wonder why the thinner one has higher resistance (or am I missing something)?
