I do have a question about DIY. is it more cost effective to buy the 100 mg base versus the 48 mg that I have been buying? I have purposely been buying the 48 mg strength because of the dangers of 100 mg base. Please remember that I just started DIYing.

It is more cost effective and easier to calculate nic mg's too. 1ml equals 10mg .5 ml equals 5mg and my favorite 1.5 ml equals 15mg.

I got the ribbon
I took the Temon to try it first!

0,8 X 0,1 mm

I count coils in my way so
I have 5 and a half coils on a about 2,6mm wick
I got 1.4 ohms
it vapes good and the flavor is not the same as the 0.2mm wire
I hope it will become better but I wonder about the impretions of many vapers!

please any who has played with this wire and have experiences about "Speak" lol

Oh the full brass Poldiac will be available this week!
ONLY IN POLISHED FINISH

I think the ribbon and the 28 gauge are very close. On a blind vape test you could be fooled. Ribbon is harder to work with and more delicate.

A little ribbon action. 0.6*0.1 at 0.85Ω

Thank you Pete54
I did it what you said on a DID and it is better!:vapor:

Do we have a link where I can buy some 0.6 ?

Here the link to the Ribbonwire guys online shop:

Zivipf´s Onlineshop

Its a very nice shop with fast/cheap delivery rates. I contacted the guy and asked him if he could get me some mesh 635.
After 10 days he had added it to his shop and sent me stripe to test out for low price and asked about my opinion about it.

I personally use his Kanthal a1 awg 27 and mesh 635 regurarly now and love it. Maybe i post a picture later wich shows
the improved wicking of the mesh 635 vs the mesh 500 wick. Also ordered ribbon 0.6 and 0.8 but havnt tested it much yet.

Is there any benefit/difference to adding the top nut when the wire is held between the positive post and the lower nut? Does it just help to keep the lower nut in place?

I have my top nuts in a small baggy (with the fill-hole screw) for safe keeping.

Some would say airflow. But I do like you

I do it to hold the lower nut tight in place. I don't really know if it helps or not but I sleep better knowing it's there. ;)

I'll have to admit that I see all this talk about ribbon wire and I just don't get it. I have no problem with the round wire and I figure if it isn't broke don't fix it. What am I missing?
I think it gives more surface heating area on the coil without adding extra wraps which raises the resistance. Since making my first sub 1.0Ω coil, I could never go back, even to 1.1Ω. On a 1.1Ω coil I found that when my battery got down to 3.7ish I wasn't getting the hit I wanted. With a 0.8ish coil, I have to remember to check the battery before it gets too low! There's a lot of good vape time between 3.2 and 3.7 volts!

I'm using 2 wraps of 30 of the round for a coil of about 0.8 ohms. Fantastic vapor!

Prior to getting the ribbon I was using 28awg. I wrapped a 4/3 and got 1.1Ω. I would bet that a 3/2 of 28awg would bring you to the "zone". I think a 2/1 of 28awg would be around 0.6ish. Hang on and I'll wrap one up quick and measure it.

Fluctuated between 0.65 and 0.70Ω

Didn't actually wrap it. I wrapped it around a #8 machine screw, cut the ends off and then measured the coil with a MM. I don't really want to go that low. At 0.85 on a fresh battery I figure I'm just below 20 watts and 5 amps. That's plenty for me.:vapor:

Yeah, I'm with you and why I have not done the 2 wraps of 28. Don't want to blow out the back of my head. LOL!
