I find the 270 will wick everything well. However it is highly prone to shorts. What I did today was to wrap my 270 wick with a single layer of oxidized 325 (I had a load of 325 and 400 wicks made up already). I then wrapped the coil and it was perfect from the get go. So I did the same on my other DID and voila perfection also. I still get the wicking benefit of the 270 with the better oxidation benefit of the 325. Can't suck the thing dry even if I try. No tilting or vaping with the thing upside down either.
270 Mesh looks to be the way to go if your a VG juice user or high VG Juice user, maybe even lower then 270 could be even better . For better wicking, less holes per square inch seems to be working better then more holes per square inch like the 325-400 has.

I thought it was just me. I saw someone else post that they were using less juice, but I've gone from 3ml-5ml/day to about 10ml... Maybe it'll wear off eventually, but every time the tank runs dry (I'm using the shorty now) I see some flavor that's been sitting in the back of my juice cabinet and say, "hmm, let's see how that is in the DID". Pretty amazing that some I used to think were ahh/ok now taste really good.

I do however really need my clear tanks to show up. I'm apparently way too distracted to notice the empty tank coming up and it hits me like a brick in the face every time.

I use much less than my DCT tanks with much better flavor.Nicotine delivery is much more efficient and that probably has a lot to do with it.I'm sure I could cut it down to 11 or 12 and my juice consumption would probably double :D.I used it constantly the first couple of days but,now I take a few vapes and sit it down for a few minutes etc.If I don't by the end of the day I get the skull-pounders.:vapor:

How is it anymore prone to shorts then say 325 ? same exact material just less holes per square inch ?

I still say my Dual Wick set up is working dam good and its what I'm using, try making one up with the 270 mesh, I havent had any shorts at all with this set up, running one on my Darwin which ROCKS, and one on a Provari and it Rocks, the 270 really does wick the VG and probably all juice much better, and with my Dual wick set ups I dont have any flooding at all, I can hold it at any angle and it is the same vape, I love this set up in my 2 DID's, boils down to personal choice I guess but my wicks are always drenched and when I take a pull it seems to hold more liquid at the coil area.

Any photo of your dual wick setup... The thread is too long, maybe I missed it.

I think it is because the wire is perhaps a heavier gauge? Not sure but there certainly is an increase in shorts with it. I have several rebuild ables and the issue happened with every one. I even wound up retorching and quenching with VG 3 times. I did finally get a good coil last night .....but this morning must have bumped it and back was the short. So I tried adding a single layer of my 325 mesh that I unrolled from a previously made coil and bingo. This repeated with a second DID also. My Katana is doing OK with the 270 mesh but that is a tiny wick

I will have 6 DIDs to play with next week and will try out different wick methods.

Where did you get the 270 mesh from. Any links?

I bought it on amazon Stainless Steel 304 Mesh Sheet, ASTM E2016-06, 270 X 270 Mesh Size, 38% Open Area, 0.0014" Wire Diameter, 12" Width, 24" Length: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific there is link to view all 795 products in this category. That will show you a grid ....at the very top left of the grid you can open a drop box and pick the mesh size up to 400

Thanks. Does anyone know where I could get the 316 mesh? All the other mesh I have are 316 and I've heard that's better than 304.

Some mesh experts might want to chime in here...

Anyone know where to get 32g or 30g wire? eBay has dried up lately.

The normal e-bay guy, I forget his name coinwek or something, message him on ebay, tell him what you need, and he will give you date and time of his next auction, you can be ready and get what you need. He did this for me last time I bought 32 a

You can find him by looking up past auctions.

I think its all about burning it enough, its the same exact material with just less holes per square inch, I'm not positive but it should work the same being the same exact material, maybe oxidize and burn some more so this doesn't happen?

That kind of also mimics my dual wick thing too, so i can see that working and wicking very well with the 325 piece over the 270 good move.

"overall", Nice,,always great to experiment, hey buy the way, as far as wire goes, the Chinese are now going to be using a new wire for atty's,,, Micro cig just announced this,, it is a Titanium wire. This will be super when we can get are hands on this stuff, it is lighter but stronger, will take heat better, and not gunk up as fast I believe, Tungsten wire is also some super stuff too which I have some of, I'm trying to find this new titanium wire now in China, I deal with a wire manufacture over there and have a email into them now, so I'll see if it can be had as of right now or if its just micro-cig who has it. Read this = Microcig ». Titanium products we are agian the first with a cleaner product

Great idea you two! (you and Mat) Boba, here I come, and I won't even need to tip my hat. (hand) :)
Which ones are the "lead free" ones? Is there a special number/alpha or whatever to look for?
