Have you all been cleaning the top post and nuts very often?! My brass nuts and post are oxidizing/gumming up from all the juice contact. Really hate to try and clean it while I have a good coil working.
Also, to those with a P+, can you get the DID to make contact with the positive post on the P+? Might have to put an o-ring under the DID post to extend it out a bit....
:::looking at feet:::

Nope, not once, and they are a mess! But... gosh, it's still going strong and like you, I don't want to ruin it. I still have my first ever coil running. I'm not too worried as long as Jim has extras in store when I get back to there. I may need to go the new route by the time I take this apart lol.
Oh, the P+ might need that? I knew the Provari's sometimes need an 0-ring under the proCap. Looks like I have more researching to do...
DID arrived today. After three tries (different wicks and coils all tweeked until I'm blue in the face) I haven't had much luck. Feels like I'm playing Wack-a-Mole with hot spots. I need to take a break for an hour or so and get back at it I guess. Seems to be a lot touchier than I thought it would be.
Yeh, unfortunately all gennies are a touch mulish and the DID is no exception. But once you wiggle this and pull and twist that, like they say, then she'll roar to life. Hang in there! I wish I could loan you some of my beginner's luck, but I might need a truckload of it when I do my Mini.... eeeks.
Watch Igethca69's videos... he has tons of them. Also the Zenesis video. Also Striker Video's.... so many of them out there, and I personally use a combo of them all.
Did you torch your mesh before folding and rolling? (no quenching at this stage!!)
Did you anneal your wire to straighten the kinks out before coiling?
Did you use the tobacco paper strip (just a little cut out piece without the glue part) around the top part of the wick?
Did you cut the tank end of the wick 45% angle for better wicking?
Did you raise the wick a notch after inserting it and hitting the bottom?
Did you juice your wick, light on fire with bic lighter, let the fire die naturally 3x?
Did you cut the top of the wick off evenly with the top of the center post after coiling? (do this before you're ready to cap it because it's burning good).
Did you evenly space your coils? You can do this after they're wrapped, by using a toothpick to slide them about. Like Striker says, they won't break, tug em!
Enough with this list of didja's. I'll let someone else continue with the rest of the didja's.
