Here are two Q-Tip videos done by Quigsworth.

Cheesecloth String Method
Rolled Cotton Method

Thanks. Just tried this with no isolator on another certain US made mod using a 3mm wick. It works well. Really easy to make a quick, no shorts coil... Thanks for the video and clarification. I am using a 100% pure natural cotton. Need to vape this out, and switch to a flavor I know better to determine if it is as clean tasting. But so far so good.

I don't even know where I put that isolator, haven't used it since I ditched it!

I was gonna do that with mine, to see if my USA one would magically turn into a keeper, but never did get around to trying. Looking forward to your results before I concrete a trade.

Not sure if there's a list started, but put absinthe down as one that is not real-time flavor changing friendly. On my 2nd tank since switching flavors (absinthe -> malty toffee/green apple -> RY4 Gold) and I can still taste some residual. Hate to tear down a good build, but seems like she needs a bath...

Not so wonderful to vape in the DID list:

1. Absinthe
2. reserved
3. reserved

Hey, why are you tearing it down? Lorderos, a gennie wizard, taught us to dry burn, let go of button and dunk the wick, repeat until gunk falls off. Finish with toothpick or fingernails. Do the juice/lighter trick 3x, and off ya go.
The tank can be cleaned out with good ol everclear, vodka, or pure straight vg or pg.
No sense having clean shiny brass nuts again. What a waste! :D

Speaking of Lorderos, here is his tps and tricks thread. (i stumbled on it last night. yay me!)

Day three with DID.
One word.
Spectacular!

Right on!! I'm so happy for you!!
You know, as tricky as these are to learn, they are nothing like the ones of old. Back in the dark ages we had to learn how to make our gennies with not just one wire but with two seperate wires. yeh. A positive wire and a negative wire. It was fantastic that such a cool thing came into existance, but no matter how many videos I watched or how many tutorials I read, I couldn't do it. Then along came the one wire methods. I watched every video out there, read just as many tutorials, and started feeling almost confident that I could do these. And then along came the DID, and I DID it!!! I still have a lot to learn, and to first hand experience, but at least now I'm on the right path at last. I get so excited when others master a coil too, especially when they are brand new to coiling at all. Check out you guys!! You haven't spent a year or two with "trying to learn the coils".... you are DOING the coils!! I'm so happy for us all I could dance. So I shall.

LOL and this was after TNT F.. messed up another shipment from Jim, and then Greek post went wrong... Now this LOL!
Next order, let us know when it's shipping! We'll get a positive string of universal blessings on it. We'll beat that curse yet.

::: keeping fingers crossed that every curious George has seen the DID and it will be on it's merry way to home with Mariam where it belongs:::

Ok. Bad news... UnDID two of the DIDs. Wanted to try a few different methods (diff coil wraps, diff attempts such as dual wicks, silica in mesh, etc). Wasted all day today with epic fails on each. Hot spots, shorts, pops and blown coils NO MATTER how neat and proper the wraps were.

Good news... Went back and just wrapped both using the same method as last night. Spot on. Ok Bo....LEAVE IT and vape!

Been there done that, not fun but you just gave everyone a good tip and that is that you have to have a min of 2 DID`s so you can have 1 working while you mess and learn with the other.:)

Somewhere in PA on my Ultra Limited
Hey, why are you tearing it down?...

Thx Uma, I did dryburn/dunk and swish the tank with 100 proof vodka (they don't sell ever clear in PA :(). Unfortunately, I think the flavor must've soaked into the o-rings or something (hopefully not a perma flavoring into the clear tank...). I'm hoping a good bath will remove it.

anyone try "the Kick" with their DID?

Yup. No problem at all. I was vaping at 8 watts with Tanked Boges but I go 8.5 watts on my DID. I would think that setting up a new coil would be a nightmare usinig a kick. I use a Provari to carefully measure my resistance and adjust to a voltage that works for me. Then I use an Ohm's Law calculator to figure out what the wattage is and dial in my kick. For example the coil I have now is 2.2Ω and I found it worked best for me at 4.3 volts which is 8.4 watts.

I've had my did for a couple of weeks I have a good double wick set up. My coil is about a week old and just did a good dry burn but flavor is really muted. It's been good but the last day or two it's been really mellow. This is my first genny so any advice would be awesome. Oh and I tryed pinching the top of the wick.
