2 days ago I said the DID doesn't leak but I take it back, even with the screw on the fill hole it can still leak (through the wick I guess). It just happened to me today, it was upside down for like 10-20 minutes and I noticed after that around 2ml has leak out of it !

It's not a good idea to put the DID upside down... maybe if I fold the edge at the top of the wick or just pinch the top it will help not to leak as much though...

All gens will leak if not kept upright. Pinching wick and using screw in fill hole changes the vape and the flavor. IMO dont pinch the wick nor use the fill hole screw. All my gens stay at home for vaping.

I just purchased a Wizards Apprentice and need to de-shine my did to match. Can anyone spell out what I need to buy and how to do it. I have satin mini ordered but the regular DID is exactly the same diameter as the wizard and looks awesome on it.

I'd keep the shiny one and buy a matte finish one for the WA, someday you will want the perfectly shined DID for perhaps another shiny mod.

Not sure is it's interesting for you, but I finally got it. I make my coil on the thick wood screw, rolled the wick a bit thinner and when installed the coil was glowing all the way. Now I've got the flavor I wanted. LOL The trick is - the coil shouldn't be tight on the wick - a bit looser. Problem solved..

Bingo, I agree

Thanks for your respond.. The majority is too excited to answer the question..
I use Provari. Wick ( made of 1/2 piece mesh provided by Jimi) fits perfectly the wick hole with no spaces around, 5 wraps of kanthal 32, 1.6 ohm reading, vaping on 3.3V - 3.5V. the filling hole screw is removed for the better wicking. No shorts or hot spots, no errors.. But no flavor neither..

Something is not right here. Try 3 wraps of K32 @ 3,7 volts

5 wraps will be more than 1.6

Many thanks guy's...a little shopping to be done now I think.

Also, before I finish the shopping...lol...those same guy's also have steel mesh but it's 300 and not 325 or 400...any good ??

There is a flavor and vapor difference to each type of mesh you use.. why not wait until you get your DID and try the ones Jim sends. I prefer 400 for flavor and vapor myself. YMMV. I use all VG or 70 percent VG

hmm, just thinking about the Mini's about to ship with SS hardware. I'm guessing that means no allen key and I think I saw somewhere that the wick hole is smaller (~2.5mm?). 10 bonus points for the 1st person to ID a standard wrapping tool for wicks (has to be something readily available/common)

I use a straightened out paperclip for all my genisis wicks for any gen model.

Nope, not tarnished by any means. If you've ever seen pictures of dspins GG's and DID, you'll see he keeps them VERY shiny :) Would just like to try my hand at giving my DID a bit extra shine.

I use Sharkhide Metal Polish on ALL my metals. Especially great for alum and brass. Used it only once on DID's. Just wipe down with fine napped microfibre cloth for tv/computer screens. Jim's DID's have the finest SS polish job of anything I have ever seen as of now.

Let me clarify my last post. I need consistancy. I've had my DID working fantastic, I've had it suck. If I can get it to work consistantly great it'll be a win. That seems to be a challenge at the moment.
My :2c: say it's your top connection is not solidly secured. Just a guess.

My DID's went into shipping mode today...wahay.

Hopefully the combination of the Greek postal system and the U.K post-office won't take as long as you guy's in the U.S have had to wait.

If anyone from the U.K is in this thread can they tell me approximately how long they have had to wait after receiving the shipping e-mail from Jim for their DID to arrive and has there been any extra customs or handling charges to pay ?

I received my full size DID as well as my sheets of mesh today. Now, to find a way to hide from the 3 foot monster chasing me around the house. Sigh! It will probably be a few hours before I can sit and play with it. :(

For the Canadians, the DID shipped on the 6th.

I'm sorry my mesh/wick tutorial isn't up yet, but I'm having trouble filming it by myself with a stationary web camera, as you see more of my fingers than you do the wick and coil, so my girlfriend and I are going to sit down this week to reshoot it! It's going to be a general instructional/setup video with an emphasis on getting the most vapor production out of your DID, which is usually how I orient most of my genesis atomizers. Hoping to have it finalized by this Friday at the very latest.

I, in advance, appreciate it! I am vaping on my DID right now and would love to see how you get it done.

Damn. A 5/6 wrap with 32g gives me a 2.0? No matter how many times I try it that's what I get. 3 coils, same way, same result. Still struggling with these other two.

Oh. I vape Boba's on my third did that hits like a freight train. The one working one. 5 days, two twist outs to burn and clean then twist backs. How many times are any of you vaping 100% VG seeing it gunk up and taste cappy? I mean loss of flavor or even a tiny tiny of dry burn.

Hmmm.. that again seems low. Make sure there's no separation from the bottom or top coil away from the wick or that you're not wrapped too tight around the wick. Can you take a picture of your coil assembly and post it for us to see what it looks like?

I just finished wrapping my first coil on the full size DID. It's a 4/5 wrap, and it's measured in at 2.5 ohms.

Here's a family picture of the Short DID and Full Size with clear window DID. Hey Martin, that's GB in the clear tank. No cracks yet. Keep you posted on whether it lasts the night. :)

Yeah I generally take pictures and this time haven't yet. I like the 2ohms. Just not liking what I have to do to get there.
I'll be back at the drawing board tomorrow. I think I got good luck with one and now I sit dormant with the other 2.
