The new wick i made with the 300 mesh is a real FAT wick, with a large center hole. I indeed get more vapor and awesome wicking with the fill screw firmly in place. I can also add that with the fill screw in place it performs awesomely and i do not get the bleeding effect.
No shorts what-so-ever, without the wick in the
coils i get 2 ohms and i get the same consistent 2 ohms with the wick in place. It is not touching bottom or top and there are no hot spots, the taste is awesome and the vapor production is awesome (although when i take the fill screw out, the taste is still ok but the vapor production is less and the bleeding happens)
With the fill screw in my
juice now stays crystal clear from the first to the last drop too. I am still not sure if it is purely to do with the fill screw or also with the new wick (the 300 mesh). When i make a new wick with 400 mesh i will do this same test again (making the wick the same dimensions) to see what happens. For now I am really content with my setup so this will have to wait until i get my 2nd DID, or until i become fiddly again ;-)
