Waw! I must have one!

How often do you change the coil? I have to change it every two days, if I try to do dry burn hot spots appear ( #400 mesh, kanthal 0.20 , 70% vg, 30% pg)
I have 3 DIDs and my coils are lasting 2, 3, 4, 5 weeks. Depending how much I wan't to fiddle or change the wrap number or wick configuration with them. Using 32 kanthal, 325 & 400 mesh, 100 percent VG.

Hmm, is the Kanthal most of us have been purchasing from ebay been knock-off Kanthal?! Certainly is a lot cheaper on Ebay as opposed to the stuff listed on Amazon. Might just have to grab a roll of the Sandvik Kanthal and find out for myself. Wish they had 30awg along with the 32.

Edit: Curious, wonder how much wire you get for 20.00? I see one listing for 45.00 as well, but neither specify how much wire they will send...

Amazon.com: Sandvik HP Reid Kanthal

My youngest Son lives for Spongebob. LOL

Thanks for the link, Jimi.

On the Spongebob tip, I met Tom Kenny at a restaurant I used to manage. When I brought him his bill, he noticed that I didn't charge him for his beer. He thanked me, and I told him: "Thank you. It's the least I can do for someone who made my adolescence better with Mr. Show and made my daughter's life more fun with SpongeBob." He was gracious as hell. :)

I've previously been using 32 Type D Kanthal. The Sandvik 32 A-1 is thicker, and more rigid. I had to pull a bit harder to get it to form around the wick. This wire produces thick clouds. The flavor is sick!!! The nic. delivery is ridiculous as well !

Hmm, I've been using nothing but Kanthal A-1, but have some Kanthal A 30AWG, haven't tried the D though. Did you order your Sandvik Kanthal on Amazon? They don't list the length of wire you receive though...

The Kanthal type D, gave me lots of problems.

Yes I ordered the Sandvik from Amazon. It's a 50ft spool.

Just an fyi...most of you probally already know this...since I changed to 30 guage kathal I have NO problems with shorts. My problem with 32 was that it was so flexable that my wick and wire kept moving. I am very happy now.

Mike n

Oddly enough, I have good success with 32, buy more consistent with 30.
