RW's part 1 (DID tutorial)

RW's part 2 (DID Tutorial)

RW's part 3 (DID tutorial)

You can use these videos as a great starting point and The Index can be used to answer further questions or for further research. I made this post for people new to The DID: The DID Thread Index. It covers the first 2956 posts and links to many of the major posts (with categories) about much of the information you will want to know. Feel free to read the entire thread, but these links should give you some direction so as to not overwhelm.

I am sure this post will get buried soon, but for now it should be near the surface for a day or two. Happy labor day.

I remember when i still smoked the stinky. I didn't look at how much smoke it made. I just smoked because I wanted or needed to. For the nicotine high. 1+pack a day.
The Did finally matched or i think surpassed a stinky. I don't try to make the most vapor I get plenty. I just enjoy my smoke free consistent smoking. Finally a safe cigarette!
the Did just works. I actually am still amazed how satisfied I get from it. Like most I needed to lower my nic level so I don't get dizzy. Now if Jim can make a pv. And we find a regulated 4 volt battery. We can keep it simple, and classy.

Oh My! (yes hear this in a George Takei voice)

How would i be able to get one of those boxes with the shiny polished DIDs ??? I would sell my left arm for one! (and I would throw in my ex girlfriend for free!)
(and yes signed would even make them more awesome!)

Got to agree with that...sig, serial, case...would be awsome.

Jim, will there be a list of sorts for these or will it just be who get's there first ?

I would sure like a set...will have to start being nice to the wife...lol.

Yeah, original DID's....now, who knows...maybe in a few years time they may be more sought after as collectors pieces.

As I saw I have to do the lotery and open the Foto album
because I see all those fotos here!:p
Thank you
You know I love them!
DIDers.....(ha I like this)
Drip Tips/I had a finish problems with biger problem on satins
So I will run this asap!
I am learning from mistakes!
I will soon have the DID top caps with LOGO and SERIALS
and the 50% off will be given to the lucky first productions DIDers with no logo!
I give this because I wish all of you to have one!
I will do it for all the old ones!

Thank you

In my experience this is exceptional, over the top customer service. The fact Jim is offering a 50% reduction on the top caps so none of his prior customers feel 'left out' speaks volumes about his priorities. Customer satisfaction and integrity first, profit second. It's no small wonder why you have developed such a loyal following Jim. The new 'designer' top caps are an absolute steal with this discount. Thank you!

That throws that theory out. Mine fires on an SB. Let us know with the extra oring
The o ring worked! Awesome!I had made 4 wicks and was down to my last bit of kanthal before I tried the 510 to 510 to adapter:)
I have bought some more kanthal. I believe the center pin on my silver bullet has been pushed down. Not by the DID, or It would have made contact. But the O ring didnt work at first but I had snugged up the first brass nut too tight then I adjusted it and it
worked. Thank you every one. I love the DID.

Does anyone else find the mini DID harder to wick and coil than the regular DID.
I just rewicked 6 and then spent 2+ hours getting the mini coiled. I am actually wondering if the ss makes it harder?
I did everything the same way that I did my original DID, and so far so good! I even had to take it all apart and add on that leftover tiny o-ring
But it did take me forever to get the wick rolled small enough for the hole! I used too much mesh the first try... but it was easy to unroll and cut off the excess until it fit right, before moving on to the torch/quench steps to stiffen it.

Uma, Uma, Uma,..... You are such a wonderful person! I just read that whole thread on that forum and I take my hat off for you being so kind and patient!
Thank you Miriam!!!
You would have done the same, had you of been there too. My hat's off to you and everyone who had to play the middleman in this situation. Next time, I'll just toss out the link to here in the first place! Thanks for doing that! I was too afraid of forum protocol lol.

I usually use a Dual Wick in my DID. That is a fat thin walled wick with a second thin wick inside it. Today I tried a single fat thin walled wick. It was ok but just for the hell of it I took the thin wick out of my other dual wick and slid it into the single wick. No comparison in my book. Now everyone has their own way to do things and what works for you is great, but, if you haven't tried a dual wick, give it a shot. For me at least, it improves wicking and flavor immensely.
