Hello folks,
Just joining, I made it through (mostly reading everything) I came through BJ43's post about wicks and another about bonuts, interesting! So anyhow i've been seeking a genesis vertical ss mesh wick experience for a while. I had been lurking in house of hybrids z-atypro land. Then saw Stormy's pre order post about an atty that looks like the slim version of DID got excited and ordered (all this before I saw this thread or even knew about DID). I did visit the DID site and have placed the items in the cart ;) I have a Penelope for about 4 weeks and really enjoy it! Met Kir Fanis and learned about clears (ordered). I will probably order this too, as I seek vape enjoyment and have fun assisting fellow new vapers. Thank you everyone for posting pictures and sharing experience.

Thank you for the craftsmanship!

Got my large can of Cape Cod polishing clothes today. Gonna spend some time tomorrow polishing up my stuff and take pictures :)

Now that I have what I need to vape, gotta get them all pretty and stuff :p

That's what I've been using until I can get some Shark Hide that dpsin recommended I try. Works pretty well, got the scuffs out of my other tubes/attys, and shined them right up! Take quite a bit of elbow grease, but well worth it. Now I don't want to touch any of the things I polished :p

im noticing on my coil its producing vapor but the top where it goes to the post glows red hot and the rest doesnt glow. ive wrapped wrong i think

Not necessarily wrapped wrong, you just have a hot spot. First eyeball coil, make sure the coil is not in contact with brass center pole or nuts. Make sure coils are not touching each other. Make sure coil is spaced evenly as possible. Make sure wick is not in contact with center pole. Next give wick a slight turn within the coil. Test it. Next make sure the coil, coming from the ground is in contact with stainless until it begins its wick climb, Test it. Next, put needle into top of wick pull slightly away from center post, Test it. Make sure you don't have to much distance from top of wick to center pole. Make sure wick not touching bottom of tank. If hot spot still remains try and pull up or push down wick within the coil, Test again. Still bad, remove wick and coil, juice burn wick, and rebuild.

I drilled the top cap to 1/16" - is too airy for me, now I have to buy another one ............................
1.2mm is the perfect size!

For a temp fix, put piece of scotch tape over air hole, pierce with a thin needle. Should reduce ir intake.

You can't have too much distance between the post and top coil, and from the base screw, have it lay flat on bottom until it gets to the wick.

It takes a little getting used to, bigger hole requires a slower draw. I now have just the opposite problem. I've gotten so used to 1/16th I get annoyed by anything that takes more effort to vape.

I'm not sure I agree. You definitely don't want it touching, but too much coil in open air can lead to a major hotspot. IMHO, Ideally the gap between top of wick (or anywhere on the coil) and center post should be ~1mm. Totally agree on the base, you want contact with base until you get to wick to avoid bottom hot spot.

I received my extra brass nuts today, and what a breeze it has made it to get and keep the coil secure, and stable. I had been using only the two at the top for some months now, and whilst I've become an expert at properly getting the coil secured and stable, the extra nut makes it so easy, and what a time saver. No more fiddling for use on my Provari! I definitely echo those who have shared how easy this setup is to use. Thanks Jim for such a wonderful product!

For some reason I love the 1/16" draw. I started in a Zenesis with open draw and got used to it quickly. Now anything smaller then that seems to be too tight of a draw. It's kind of funny, I used to enjoy tight holes, now I enjoy the loose ones.

That's so wrong that it's right! I love the 1/16 draw too, I get a heck of a lot more vapor with it.

I think it was taken differently. After re-reading it can be taken to ways. In short, you can't have too much space meant make sure there isn't a lot of space. Which by default means "hanging wire".

Ok. I'll reword. Close, but just far enough away to not tough. You had it better by just saying 1mm

I just wanted to clarify MY thought behind it. You can't really have a lot of space anywhere in there. Sometimes you swear it touching when it's not.
