Oh you teaser you!!!! Everyone but me gets to see it, while I wait ... and wait... for eternity... at least until the end of next week if customs lets it go quickly. Quickly. lol. Ten minute hold is too long! I so want to see this mod for itself, let alone with the special engraving! That's so cool that you got to see the mod!!! How do you like it? Did you roll it? It at pretty but it works running regulated to try to keep from burning up. It has short over current protection .

I rely on my friends in the DID thread when I need a bit of education. Why is it that mech mods can drive low res setups unlimited , and vv are limited by there amps? Can't get my brain around this, thanks.

so a 3.5 a device like Provari can handle such as 14/4=3.5,

so something like
4 volt battery running 1 ohm coil = 16 watt. 16 watt / 4 v = 4 am, which is over the 3.5 amp limit of provari so it wont fire.
other devices may have a larger amp limit which will be ok. Provari v1 had 2.5am limit so to run a 1 ohm coil, it has to dial down the voltage a lot. like 2 volt runing 1 ohm = 4 watt . 4watt/2volt = 2 amp.
mech pv doesn't care, it just send the voltage coming off the battery straight to the coil and let it do its thing. I am not sure what happen when it really over stretch, but I am sure there is probably some safety issue why an extreme number is unwanted.

VV and non mechanical mods have wires and circuits that can only handle a certain amount of power through them. An all mechanical mods delivers all the power to what ever atty is on the connection. You have to a little more careful with which batteries are used in a mechanical mods. Mechanical having no wires or circuitry will usually never break, but if it uses a spring as part of it's activation, the spring can loose it strength or become less "springy".

Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to post all the good advice on this thread. I have tonight made my first ever wick and coil and thanks to all the tips I have read here it worked first time. I took a resistance reading which came out at 2.4 ohms on 4/3 wraps so after a tank full pulled that wick out (to keep for later) and made a 3/2 wrap that measured 1.9 ohms. Hope one day I will have gained enough knowledge and experience to help others as you have all helped me. Thank you everyone.
