Hey folks been, reading this thread avidly for last couple of months, finally got to posting my newbie five to be able to post here.
I have been very impressed with the generosity and kindness of this thread's contributors, I already feel like I know you all quite well, It's been like watching a soap opera about the Golden (or silver) child that is the DID, Big respect to Jim also, who seems like the most caring father to all us DIDers.
I love my DID std, I have read all the set-up posts (yes all twenty seven million nine hundred and seven), watched all the videos and I'm very grateful for the info and wisdom, but I am still having flavor/taste strength issues. Great Vapor though and no bunt or metallic taste
I have a great stable coil (even 6 wrap 32g twisted kanthal 1.4Ohms no shorts or hotspots), great wick ( snug but not tight in the hole, 55m rolled with small center hole and large outer wall, ( rolled first part tight then second part larger, kind of like a dual wick small in large set-up, but all rolled in one piece.) well oxidized, quenched ( the quenching was the key for me, regards getting no shorts) bunt with e-liquid etc.
I am
vaping "Vapeking" tobacco flavors , VK5, Royal BLEND, Virginia Flue cured.
I just can't seem to get the flavor strength from the DID I do from my 'Cotton wool pad wicked' CC Kanger 2.4ml SR.
I have read rave
reviews on "great flavor,So intense, too intense,ROBUST with flavor.
I have read that too much flavor can equal no flavor & that cartos mute flavor so an over flavored juice comes through well, but in my Kanger cotton wool wick set-up ?
I have read thin wall wicks have better flavor, dual wicks have better flavor, more wraps have better flavor, more watts gets better flavor.
My head is spinning, and I feel I am a tenacious student

Have read that the position of the top brass nut will affect flavor, the higher, or closer to the mouthpiece hole
it is the more vapor, the lower on the post it is more flavor (too intense was mentioned, due to juice globule splatter into the mouth!)
I have read about members not using tobacco juices in their DID's but Scott (and others) seems happy with his RY4 or His other tobacco juice in the video.
I am not ready to put my DID aside for desert and fruit juices, which I'm not keen on yet.
I have read that people get "great" flavor with the Line by Van, and wondered if the smaller chamber or more direct airflow from the wick to the mouthpiece are the answer, but I keep hearing how great the flavor is on the DID and am feeling like I MUST be missing out

I love tinkering, and love the DID, but I am putting my life on hold to get this thing sorted, and there seems no end in sight.
Please help.
