No but it's on the list for next order ;)

Currently using the B type from this photo on my set-up to cover the ego threads

For refilling I just discovered that an 18 gauge blunt tip needle will screw into the top of these bottles.

Who sells the Caravela? I found their website, but it's still under construction.

Studio, here it is IMO - You have a high quality genisis DID. You need, yes need a high quality PV to pair it with. You only get what you pay for. I would recommend to you the Caravela.

Has anyone had any luck with finding a nice, reasonably priced mechanical mod or vv device that puts out 4-5 amps?
I bought a Lavatube V1 ($65,tube 2x batts & charger, cheap I thought!) and it's not playing nice with the DID.
My current coil is twisted 32g Kanthal 4/5 wrap at around 1.6-1.7Ohm and the lavatube only just runs it on a really freshly charged battery. I have ended up using my ego batteries and they really run it pretty well.
I have tried a 2.4Ohm (not twisted) but it still seems to be limiting output on the lavatube and the egos won't play then.
I felt myself veering towards the ego big bat mod ($20) the last time I ordered some supplies locally, but feared the switch might be full of amp limiting electro trickery.
I have the batteries and charger from the lavatube kit so it was tempting.
I know the V1 LT is supposed to have a 2.5A limit but it must be lower than that as the battery runs down, more like 2A.
I believe egos have a 3-3.2A limit hence the unlikely performance superiority over the LT.
I love the DID but can't afford a Provari for it yet, even if that is suitable at 3.5A.
So has anyone paired their DID with the Ego big bat Mod, and what were your thoughts or experience?
There are now fuses available, too. The 2cent one has to be replaced each time it trips, but the other one, Vape Safe, will reset itself time and time again. Well worth the price for any mod.

I need to research the amps on mechanical mods. I hope my incoming Roller mod has ample amps. :)

Well that sucks
That totally sucks, I agree. Have you mentioned this to Jim?

Propane torches put out too much heat. They will destroy the mesh making them crumble now or within a couple weeks. That is unless you are a master with propane.

Here you go from Harbor freight - 8.99 should have a store around San Diego

Can you show us a picture of the bottle, please :)

If you use a Multi-Meter on your mesh, to see if it's still conducting or not, it will save you tremendous amounts of time too.

Where can i get one of those fuses that resets itself? I can only find the none resetting one. :-(

You're most welcome!

I've been praising the shortstop for a couple months now, as the 2cent fuse was a joke. A PTC resettable fuse cost $0.32 a pop, but charged $10 a pop for a non-resettable fuse.

It grinds my gears... :D

LOL yes I was thinking the same thing, a new collapsible spring for my Groove would cost 0,50 but the 2cent costs 10,- ???
So this shortstop might work to stop my springs from collapsing when playing with RBA's on my mods ;-)

Any size you want 18350, 18500, 18650

157.00 in brushed finish - it will last you a lifetime unless you lose it

Is this mod variable voltage?

No, but it could be variable wattage if you put a kick module in it ;-)
(but I don't know why you would want to since that only goes up to 10 watts, it's much easier to just play with your ohm's on your DID to get the wattage you want, like 15 for me)

You want it sitting slightly above the bottom. "most" of the way down, but not touching the base..

I typically roll them a little longer than needed, hold it in position, then trim the top. Ideally, trim it before oxidizing so that you're not creating and "fresh" SS at the cut.

Can I ask a noob question? The did is about to arrive and I have one question. When you wrap your wick do you make it long enough to go all the way to the bottom of the tank? I have never set up a genisis style atty and feel like an idiot for having to ask

I get good results from my conventional propane torch on very low. I did destroy a few wicks from overtorching and making them too brittle, prior to getting good at the technique. You want the wick glowing red but not very bright red. Holding it about .5 cm from the blue flame tip while the blue flame is no more than a 1/2 inch long works best for me.

I ran across a nice review video this morning while waiting on a phone call, and thought you all might enjoy it too.

The "DID" Genisis 510 Atomizer Follow Up - YouTube

Well fooey. I couldn't embed the video.

This is pretty much the vapor production I see from mine on a bone stock configuration. Extremely satisfying and I've barely touched anything else but my DID since I got it back in June. Running a 3/4 wrap coil on a medium-thick wick ohming out at 1.8 using 32awg.

I cut my mesh to 40mm x 20mm but you can use 40mm x 10mm up to 40mm x 50mm. The 40mm is the height and the 10mm to 50mm the thickness of the wick walls that you can experiment with to get your personal wicking ideal
So back to your question if you cut the starting length to 40mm and after rolling to tank hole size, insert into hole untill it touches the bottom of the tank, pull back up 1mm and then cut level with the top of the centre post. When you come to put it back in after oxidiising if you line up the top of the wick with the top of the post you will know the bottom of your wick is just off the base of the tank. Of course if the wick is properly oxidised (torched/quenched) the wick can touch the tank anywhere because this process makes the wick non-conductive to electric
