Jim, I got in from my motorcycle trip Thursday night late after a long 500 mile run, well because the lodge we wanted to stay at was closed due to the bear or something! Anyways, my DID-mini was waiting on me...

I have to say BRAVO my friend. The quality machining and craftsmanship on your atomizer is top notch! You did a superb job on setting up that atomizer chamber. I just have to be careful not to lose any of the little knurled nuts or screws. They remind me of my model airplane days and the throttle mixture screws :) Which brings me to an idea. I vape 100% VG, and am leaving the fill port open. I wonder if you could use a screw similar to a throttle screw with a spring to control the air allowed into the tank while vaping??? Just a thought.

I set it up and it vapes very nicely, after first try, not new to genisis here:). Not to tight nor airy of a draw. Flavor is very good (though still breaking in). Looks very nice on my STURM MOD (though i need to polish the STURM now).

I happened to be also be on a coop for some chinese copies of your work and also received them. Normally I wouldn't buy into something like that, but I like to give them to people that show at our local vape meets and want to try a genisis. I want to tell you, there is NO comparison between your beautiful piece of work and their chrome plated brass copy. Theirs is not something I would want to use long term, and yours is. I will be cleaning out some of my vaping gear to the classifieds over the next few months I believe, but your work is staying here.

Thanks for making the mini, it was worth the wait IMO.
Very nice review Jolly and just FYI to newbies, if anybody knows their mods and Genesis's, it's Jolly!!!
Great to hear it finally cleared customs. What a ride!

Jim has got so many things right on so many levels. His concern for his customers is genuine and he keeps demonstrating this. The DID has only been around about 4 months and in that time we've seen:

Uncommon availability
The Mini
Gemini
clear tanks
SS parts
Logos and serial numbers
Different sized air holes
kanthal
mesh
expedited shipping
spare parts
prize contests
quick customer support response
Jim's availability in the forums for communication and DID-related updates and news
Jim obviously listens to us and implements many of the things we've asked for and suggested.

I'm sure I'm missing many others but the point is...in my eyes he sets a standard that is rare to see and worth supporting.

Try getting all that from cheap knock-offs.

I find myself buying things from Jim that I don't really need just to feel good about supporting someone like this. I realize not
everyone will see it this way but I do. And it just felt good saying so right now. :)

Well said fuzzione.

Finally got my DID operational!
Thanks Jim for making this possible.

Here's a pic of my first coil 4/3 32 AWG Kanthal @ 1.7 ohm (it's not the best coil but for me it's working)
Now the way is open to experiment with 30 and 28 AWG Kanthal.

I love my new hobby!!!!

btw: my short DID is now with my friend Emonty, who test it to the bottom:)

For a first attempt that does not look bad at all.... Well done, sit back, enjoy.... if it vapes well, no need to tinker.

LOL. It was over 2500 miles total. ~500 on the last day! I had been waiting on the DID to take on the road, but customs got in the way of that plan. I ended up taking 2 other gens with me, which did fine. One is eGo size, and I have an ego lanyard, and use that when I ride. Worked great...

2500 mi...that's Iron .... territory, my compliments. As an experiment I attached a length of clear tube to a carto affixed to my X3 volt auto battery. Placed battery in an inside breast pocket, tube was routed out my collar and velcroed to the inside of my helmet. It worked great on long trips. Only thing was, I discovered that I missed the extra stops to stretch, vape conventionally and enjoy some scenery. So back to the failed experiment drawer it went.

For those who use a Provari, what is the advantage to using a 1.0Ω coil over a 2.0Ω coil.? If the Provari has a 3.5 amp limit, you could use a 2.0Ω coil at 5.3 volts and vape with 14 watts. I use 14 watts because someone said that is a limit on the Provari. I haven't actually read that anywhere, i just assume it to be true. My point is, unless you want to vape higher than 14 watts, I see no reason to be wrapping such low resistance coils. So if you wrap a 1.0Ω coil and vape at 3.7 volts or less, you are below 14 watts so why trip the amp limit on the Provari? Now if you vape at over 14 watts, I totally understand, but if not, you are gaining nothing (except headaches) by going ultra low res.
Of course I could be wrong so if I am, please explain.
Thanks.

How are those with < 1.3 ohm coils achieving this? What wire and how many wraps? Also, what mesh is being used (if it has any bearing on resistence)?

I'm just curious because I can't get lower than 1.3ohms using the supplied mesh and kanthal and didn't know if anything could get lower than that, let alone if it would be safe.
With awg 30 and 2-3 wrap. Its safe if your PV can push it. The Provari V2 was 3-3.1V. So I sold it.

I started to hate Provari, I like 1.1-0.9ohm . Too many protections...

What I think is funny about all that is how ZEN talks about his Zenesis being a hot rod. Then he makes the ZattyP. Really? But I didnt say it. I didnt build it. Z fans stay off me!!! Ive had the MINI and the Standard. Both are long gone for a reason. Will never sell my DID. #440 will always have a parking spot on my desk.

This is a good question, could the ultra lo-res people explain the benefit of using ultra low-res with vv mods, or using ultra low res at all?

It's a matter of feel, for me. Maybe because I'm not in the field and I do not know how to explain it

I like ultra .low Res recently ..not for the VV mods but for my mechanical mods. The best wrap I have found to be the UL Res is twisted 33 awg . A 3/4 wrap will give me around a 1 ohm coil. Worts great at 3.7 volts on mechanical and provari. With the thicker wire the could lasts for a long time. Battery life has been amazing also. I am using NMKE batteries in my mechanicals and aw on all my other mods.now I do enjoy tinkering and have dome 2+ ohm coils several times when I was running the 3 pro varies. My ggts works better with a lower ohm coil. I am not into a 2/1 wrap, that is a throat burner for me.
